Our staff care for a variety of patient populations, including cardiac, trauma, gastrointestinal, and psych. To support our staff are Clinical Nurse Managers (CNMs) which help with patient care, through put, and assignments. Nurses who are staffed on Kelemen 9 are required to have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications, which will allow competent and safe care for our complex patient populations. Experience Required 0-2 years' experience required. Education Requirements High School/GED required. License/Certification Requirements * AHA Basic Life Support certification required. * At least one of the below qualifications/certifications must be met for hire. * * Successful completion of an unlicensed health care provider/ technician program * Completed at least one fundamental nursing course in an accredited Nursing Program * 1 year or more patient care experience in a similar role. Under general supervision and following established procedures, the Anesthesia Technician assures the quality of service and monitoring for patients undergoing anesthesia in all anesthetizing locations throughout the hospital. Maintains, services, sets up, tests, and troubleshoots equipment and provides technical assistance to the Anesthesia staff in the care of patients. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists the anesthesia staff in the set up and initialization of hemodynamic monitoring equipment. 2. Assists anesthesia staff in care of patients before, during, and immediately after anesthesia which involves the following: Transfer of patients from stretchers to operating table; attachment of vital signs monitoring equipment; Positioning and hold patients for procedures, i.e spinal, epidurals; Assist in endotracheal intubations by preparing and holding equipment; Assist in transfer from operating room to PACU. 3. Conducts performance tests, performs calibration and first level repairs (i.e. battery changes, cable swapping, monitor checks) of anesthesia equipment. 4. Prepares blood pressure transducers. Sets up equipment for use in the work area such as, but not limited to, connecting input and output hoses, bronchoscopes, and assembling breathing circuits.
