How You Will Make an Impact: The Surgical Scrub Techs collaborates closely with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team. What You Will Do: The Surgical Scrub Tech is responsible for the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during a surgical procedure. Perform appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed.
Perform thorough prep of surgical site(s) and drapes the sterile field.
Maintain the highest standard of sterile technique during procedure, provide instruments to the surgeon during procedure, and prepare sterile dressing(s).
Prepare instruments for terminal sterilization and performs weekly terminal cleaning of operating room.
Assist with patient check-in, surgery scheduling, post-op follow-up, phone triage, turn-over cleaning/room preparation, patient transfer(s) (to and from OR) and obtaining vital signs.
Prepare sterile embryo transfer trays and provide patient support during oocyte retrieval and embryo transfers.
Sterilization of surgical instruments and maintains infection control policies.
