The role of the Certified Scrub Technologist under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and all staff in the operating room (the "OR") report to the Surgery Manager. Position Summary
The role of the Certified Scrub Technologist under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and all staff in the operating room (the "OR") report to the Surgery Manager. This position is responsible for preparing the OR, maintaining a sterile field, and assisting the surgeon during procedures by handling instruments and supplies. This position is responsible for setting up sterile trays with instruments and equipment, assisting with patient preparation and positioning, and anticipating the surgeon's needs to hand them the correct tools throughout the surgery. The primary purpose of this position is to respond to emergency and non-emergency ambulance calls, provide medical services to the community, and non-emergency transport for inter-facility transfers. In addition to responding to calls, the position is also required to provide assistance to the paramedic partner on these calls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Drive emergency vehicle. This duty is performed daily, about 50% of the time.
2. Assist in patient care. This duty is performed daily, about 30% of the time.
3. Restock medical equipment. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
4. Clean and prepare medical equipment. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
5. Clean and prepare emergency vehicle. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
6. Clean facilities. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
7. Emergency scene management. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
8. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school, plus specialized schooling and/or on-the-job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 0 to 6 months related experience or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
