The Surgical Technologist II ensures that the operating room is properly prepared with the necessary instruments and equipment and assists the surgical team throughout the procedure by passing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and use critical thinking to anticipate the needs of the surgeon. The role involves maintaining patient safety and ensuring that the surgical environment is organized, clean, and sterile. The Surgical Technologist assists in applying dressings, securing surgical drapes and transferring patients to recovery areas. The Surgical Tech Certified Cardiac Team assists surgeons and nurses with patients, equipment preparation, aseptic technique, and gathering patient and case specific supplies and equipment. The Surgical Tech Certified Cardiac Team will prepare the operating room surgery by assembling routine supplies, materials, instruments, and equipment, and will obtain special supplies indicated by physician. Essential Functions:
Functions as the scrub person and assists as trained during operative and other invasive procedures by assembling supplies and equipment required for the procedure.
