We're hiring Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMTs) that will respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for medical assistance and deliver high-quality care, treatment and customer service to patients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advanced EMTs provide an assessment of patients, determine necessary care and deliver emergency services by utilizing appropriate medical techniques and equipment.
Document patient information, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
Take pride in providing a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.
Use appropriate Advanced EMT skills to provide care including communications, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, office equipment and tools.
Advanced EMTs operate an ambulance in conjunction with applicable company safety policies, and traffic laws related to the operation of emergency medical response vehicles.
Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow co-workers.
Other Responsibilities:
Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
State Driver's License
National or State Advanced EMT certification
CPR/BLS certifications

WORKING CONDITIONS AND MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Working Conditions: Available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays, extended workdays. Long periods inside the ambulance. May work indoors or outdoors with exposure to weather. Possible routine exposure to moderate noise levels. May periodically work in poorly lit environments in a moving vehicle.
Physical Demands: Moderate to extended amounts of sitting, standing, and walking. Some repetitive motion activities. Routinely lifting more than 200 lbs. with assistance. Pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, carrying, typing and stair climbing. Visual identification of color-coded items. Clear speech and hearing. Must be able to wear a face mask or respirator with proper fit for extended periods when required.
Mental Requirements: Critical thinking skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Fatigue, high pressure, exposure to stressful situations.

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
* You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
* You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
* You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
* You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
* You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
* You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

* High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
* Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
* Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification

Provides post-operative instructions and paperwork for patient.

Assists specialty surgeon during surgical and diagnostic procedures. Assembles, operates, and maintains diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. Orders diagnostic laboratory and radiographic procedures as directed. Performs activities unique to specific surgical clinics. Schedules clinic appointments and Surgeries. Prepares preoperative paperwork.
- Attends in-service training in new procedures, techniques, and equipment.
- Ensures a safe work environment, employee safe work habits and patient safety IAW regulatory agencies, infection control policies, and process improvement initiatives.

Standing/Walking: Frequently to continuously when responding to calls, while being optional while at rest. Most walking would be for short distances. Standing or walking could be on all types of surfaces. The individual must be able to go up and down slight inclines or declines that may be found at roadsides, ramps at hospitals, or care facilities. At a location, standing would occur more often than walking. Standing could last from a few minutes to hours, depending on the situation.
Sitting: Frequently when responding to a location or issuing patient care as the employee will sit in the emergency vehicle while in motion. The time required to sit would depend upon the specific situation.
Lifting and Carrying: Frequently required to lift and carry weights ranging from a few pounds and above. Occasionally required to lift and carry weights scaled at above 130 pounds or more. Will need to lift and carry, with possible assistance from other crew members, adult patients while moving them from one location to another (e.g. hospital bed to gurney, from floor to backboard, loading and unloading patient from ambulance, etc.). Other objects employees will be asked to move would include medical equipment boxes, large oxygen cylinders, and empty power gurneys to and from the ambulance.
Bending and Stooping: Frequently the individual will be required to bend in a range of 1 to 90 degrees. These situations occur while lifting a patient, lifting equipment, treating a patient at ground level, sitting on a bench located in the ambulance, etc. This activity may be prolonged and last up to 30 minutes or more. During any given call, the employee may bend and/or stoop 1 to 15 times per incident.
Crouching and Kneeling: Frequently may be performed when on the scene picking up equipment or assisting patients. The actual number of times this is done depends on the particular incident but may be up to 15 times for a duration up to 30 minutes or greater.
Climbing: Occasionally climbing steps up and down with a patient on a stretch or other device as well as entering and exiting the ambulance. Generally, the climbing would require lifting and carrying heavy objects such as a stretch or other device with a patient on it. Balancing may be required when backing down staircases.
Reaching: Frequently to continuously in order to review monitoring equipment, operate communication equipment, administer oxygen, and to operate equipment. May also require employee to reach while in precarious positions, such as in a vehicle while in motion to reach medical supplies. Reaching will involve partial to full extension of the arms.
Pushing and Pulling: Frequently transporting a loaded gurney would require the most force in pushing and pulling. The weight required to push or pull the gurney is dependent on the weight of the patient but can be in excess of 300+ pounds. Slight pushing will be required if the incumbent is performing CPR, which can require repetitive pushing and may range from a few minutes to hours. Pushing and pulling is required when operating vehicle doors.
Handling or grasping: Frequently to continuously. While working at any given location, continual bilateral gross manipulation is performed in this position. This may be involved in opening and closing doors, carrying and operating medical equipment and devices, operation of the power gurney, and filling out of patient care reports and other paperwork. The arm and hand must be able to perform in all positions, including supination and pronation. Job Summary:
The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting with patient care within the assigned work area and participates as a member of the health care team.
The Certified Surgical Technologist contributes to the care of the patient by following established Surgical Services standards.

Job Requirements
Minimum:
One (1) year recent full-time experience in an acute care facility as a certified surgical technologist.
May consider any experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center where procedures are performed that have the same acuity level or level of complexity as an acute care facility.
Graduate from high school or equivalent program.
Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program to include certification.
Surgical Technology training - Earns 15 units of continued education every year as required by NBSTSA.
CT CPRBLS - Basic Life Support - AHA
CT ORT = Certified Surgical Technologist Nat'l. The Certified Surgical Technologist certification must be provisioned through the NBSTSA.
Current employees, hired in this position before January 1, 2018, have been grandfathered and are exempt from the requirement to obtain NBSTSA certification.
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. • Performs scrub duties in the Operating Room. Scrubs hands and arms and dons sterile gown and gloves. Prepares and maintains sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment of draped tables and stands. Counts sponges, needles, instruments, and related items with circulating nurse before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Assists the operative team with applying sterile drapes to the surgical field. Passes instruments, sutures, and other supplies to the sterile operative team. Anticipates surgeon's needs, and provides additional assistance as directed. Cares for surgical specimens on the sterile field. Cleans and prepares instruments and reusable supplies for terminal sterilization and decontamination.
• Performs recovery room or basic nursing duties. Assists surgeon and nursing staff with post-operative care as deemed appropriate by surgeon. Administers oxygen, helps arouse patient, and carries out surgeon's post- operative orders. Assists with identifying and managing of postoperative complications. Provides post-operative instructions and paperwork for patient.
• Performs general clinic functions. Prepares patients, instruments, supplies, and equipment for specialized procedures in the OR and specialty clinics. Assists specialty surgeon during surgical and diagnostic procedures. Assembles, operates, and maintains diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. Orders diagnostic laboratory and radiographic procedures as directed. Performs activities unique to specific surgical clinics. Schedules clinic appointments and Surgeries. Prepares preoperative paperwork.
• Attends in-service training in new procedures, techniques, and equipment.
• Ensures a safe work environment, employee safe work habits and patient safety IAW regulatory agencies, infection control policies, and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Education: Graduate from a Surgical Technology Program recognized and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
* Experience: Have at least 12 months of experience within the last 36 months as a surgical services technician.
* License or certificate: Completion of an accredited surgical service and clinical course.
* Life Support Certifications: Possess ARC or AHA BLS certification.
* Security: Must be able to pass a Government background check and obtain a Government security clearance.

* You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
* You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
* You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
* You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
* You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

* High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
