Assists with all Endoscopy procedures(i.e EGD, Colonoscopy, Endoscopic Rectograde Cholangio-Pancreatography(ERCP), Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy(PEG) & Broncoscopy, & TEE).
Assist with Electroconvulsive Therapy procedures and special projects as assigned.
Orders and maintains anesthesia supplies (including carts) working closely with the Director of Anesthesia and/or designee in identifying other anesthesia needs.
Compiles and processes O.R. records into log book, processes sterilization records and anesthesia log as appropriate.
Orders O.R. materials from Central Supply and Storeroom regularly; keeps assigned Procedure Rooms and carts stocked with supplies; checks expiration dates of OR supplies/packages and instrumentation.
Follows written procedures for sterilization (steam sterilization and Steris machines); knows the responsibilities and the necessity for chemical and biological monitoring.
Participates in meetings, continuing education, in-service programs and educational workshops as required (mandatory and yearly hospital and departmental educational plans).
Attends monthly unit meetings.

SHG is looking for a Multi-Specialty Surgical Tech with SPD Experience. The Surgery Tech handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Qualifications
Must have high school diploma or equivalent and acceptable ORT training program with appropriate certification.Must have current CPR certification, ACLS preferred.Must have full command of the English language both verbal and written.Must possess the physical ability and perceptive acuity (e.g. visual, hearing) to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect care functions.May be expected to lift twenty-five pounds without assistance. Is required to obtain assistance when moving patients unable to assist in moving, unless patient is in wheelchair or on gurney. Will be expected to obtain assistance when needed.
Responsibilities

Helps Circulating Nurse open sterile supplies and prepares for each operative procedure.Assists surgeons as scrub nurse according to prescribed standards.Sets up table, instruments and supplies according to the type of operation.Assists and anticipates the needs of the surgeons.Maintains correct count of sponges and needles with Circulator.Maintains aseptic technique at all times as dictated by accepted standards.Assists in maintenance and care of specimens.Assists in application of dressings, and in moving patients.Decontaminates all equipment, instruments and supplies and cleans room as directed in procedure.Maintain awareness of safety hazards and use of equipment to prevent damage or harm to personnel or patients.Assists in inventory of supplies and equipment to assure availability and maintain set level and notifies Nurse Manager to reorder.Knows where all supplies are kept and is able to get or put away accordingly.Assist with emergency procedure as required.Provides and makes available all supplies for the next surgery day.Performs additional activities and duties as directed.Participates in training, orientation, in-service and staff development programs.Keeps informed of current status of O.R. Technician activities and local and national levels.
