Assess the patients ability to communicate with the crew and assists in the provision of an interpreter if needed. Participates in Department, Hospital and Regional Quality Improvement Programs. Attends Department Meetings and Training Sessions. Assists Advanced Life Support Paramedic in duties that are with-in the scope of practice of an Emergency Medical Technician (including, but not limited to, Blood Glucose Samples, Placement of EKG Monitor, Obtaining Vital Signs, etc.) Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a High School or GED required; Completion of NYS DOH BEMS Approved Emergency Medical Technician Program required; Completion of CEVO III or CEVO IV or EVOC Course required; current and valid NYS Driver License required. NYS DOH BEMS EMT Certification required; Weapons of Mass Destruction Certificate required; HAZMAT Awareness Certificate required.
