Per Diem position with possible Full Time opportunity. ** 2 -3 years of 911 Experience Required ** We are seeking to hire experienced per-diem EMT's and Paramedics to assist in covering days, nights, weekends and holidays (5 paid holidays). Minimum monthly shift requirements: three(3) scheduled shifts/month Shifts of eight hours and up to twenty-four hours are available. Additional Saturday and Sunday shifts are available immediately! : Respond to 911 emergencies and transport patients via ambulance. Execute the safe operation of the emergency vehicle and the safe delivery of patients to the designated hospital. Provide Basic Life Support and/or Advanced Life Support as required while maintaining a professional attitude. Collect all relevant billing information, complete a detailed Electronic Patient Care Report. Job Responsibilities: Respond to requests for emergency medical assistance. Perform and assume responsibility for assessment and treatment of patients consistent with departmental procedures, State-wide standard treatment protocols, and/or instructions provided by a medical control physician. Monitor and treat patients during transportation. Monitor communication equipment to maintain contact with police and county dispatchers. In the absence of other qualified personnel, controls the accident scene, in such a way as to minimize further danger as well as controlling the actions of bystanders. Communicate with medical personnel at emergency treatment facilities. Ensure that emergency vehicles are properly cleaned, sanitized, and maintained with appropriate equipment and supplies. Gather patient billing information and appropriate billing signatures. Prepare and submit a pre-hospital electronic patient care report. Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Responsible for maintaining respective State and REMAC certification. (Paramedics Only) Administers advanced pre-hospital care within the limits of licensure or certification and in accordance with approved protocols. (Paramedics Only) Attends mandatory ALS review meetings and other required training as scheduled. (Paramedics Only) Job Qualification: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Valid New York State drivers license Valid NYS EMT or Paramedic Certification BLS Provider Certification (AHA) PALS Certification (Paramedics Only) ACLS Certification (Paramedics Only) Minimum 2 years of 911 experience required.
