Primary Responsibilities:
Greets visitors and patients in person, or communicates by telephone, or upholding excellent customer service
Enters and updates patient demographic and financial information, ensuring the patient is fully registered as early in the process as possible
Obtains appropriate applications and forms, confirming signatures are on file. Photocopies / scans documents as needed
Provides patients with financial responsibility information and collects patient liabilities, documents amount in the appropriate fields, and balances the cash box daily
Works with partnering departments (Financial Counseling, Scheduling, Financial Clearance, and clinical areas) to ensure all aspects of the patient's encounter are completed as needed
Provides wayfinding instructions and assists with hospital information as requested
Coordinates patient admission needs, bed assignments, and tracking boards where applicable
Meets or exceeds audit accuracy standards. Works worklists and error reports timely, and proactively seeks assistance to resolve as needed
Maintains a safe environment complying with NLH policies and procedures; reports and directly addresses environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and / or protocol when involved or observed
May perform other duties upon request

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)

Influenza vaccination for the current flu season (typically August-May) or commitment to receive the influenza vaccination when available for the upcoming flu season
Ability to work 40 hours per week in 8-hour shifts, Monday through Sunday between the hours of 6:00am - 12:00am

Job Summary

Responsibilities and Expectations
The daily operation of the facility.
Serving, along with any committee appointed for the purpose, as a liaison between the Governing Board, the Medical Staff, and all departments of the facility.
Reporting the pertinent activities concerning the facility to the Governing Board at regular intervals.
Appointing a person responsible for the facility in the absence of the Administrator.
Planning for the services provided by the facility and the operation of the facility.
Overall management of the Partnership as outlined in the Operating or Limited Partnership Agreement as applicable.
Lead discussion/presentation during Monthly Operations Review call with USPI's Home Office team.
Business Operations
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures as related to internal controls.
Develop, monitor, and control the staffing needs, operations budget, and capital budget.
Develop, monitor, and control the purchasing plan to stay within the proposed budget and maintain compliance with group purchasing initiatives.
Ensure compliance with government regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
Negotiate and control all external contracts, such as those with physicians, ancillary services, plant maintenance, and purchasing agreements.
Establish pricing for procedures based on cost analysis and local market standards.
Foster positive work relationships among all departments of the facility and act as liaison between UPSI's Home Office and all staff at the facility.

Review and approve the disciplinary action and/or discharge of employees.

Develop employee productivity analysis, utilizing Staff Tracker, and assure efficiency of staff levels through increases or reductions in the work force as necessitated by changes in surgical case volume.
Implements a program of job-based orientation, training, and ongoing evaluation for all employees.
Manage all employee files and records.
Provide educational opportunities for professional staff development. Promote the implementation of positive customer relations by the employees and physicians.
Clinical Services
Ensure that the surgical programs and clinical services are in compliance with the respective components of regulatory body and accrediting body standards. Work in conjunction with the Medical Director and Medical Executive Committee in the evaluation and development of existing and new surgical services at the facility.
Manage the clinical departments of nursing, central supply, medical records, and housekeeping, and supervise the contracted services of laboratory, radiology, pharmaceuticals, laundry, and biomedical engineering.
Monitor the adequate function of surgical equipment and patient care equipment through contracted services and follow-up on repairs.
Develop and implement a sales/marketing plan and lead the facility's sales team in accordance with USPI's Sales Plan and the business plan for the facility.
Identify and develop new services defined as appropriate for ambulatory surgery centers.
Foster positive public relations, marketing, and planning.
Quality Improvement
Develop, evaluate, and promote implementation of a continuous quality improvement program.
Administer the infection control program and medical staff review of the quality improvement program.
Identify and correct quality care issues.
Develop statistical indicators to use in evaluating the overall operations and quality of care provided.
Serve as a member of the Quality Improvement Committee.
Medical Staff Relationships
Process the credentialing of practitioners of the facility.
Collaborate with the Medical Director in the review and revision of the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations on a biannual basis.
Collaborate with the Medical Director and serve as a liaison in problem areas with the medical staff. Promote positive relationships between employees and practitioners.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Fish Markers will work as a group to complete adipose fin clips of approximately 112,000 juvenile Atlantic salmon. All work will be scheduled and performed within the time frames provided by the Project Lead.
Fish Markers will follow established standard operating procedures that are provided by Project Lead.
Fish Markers will follow directions to complete clipping effectively, safely, and to avoid fish mortality.
Fish Markers will be expected to each mark about 400 to 500 fish per hour. Fish Markers will assist in
and changing baths and moving marking equipment from pool to pool as clipping progresses.
Fish Markers will perform additional tasks only as assigned by the Project Lead (e.g., assisting hatchery
staff with crowding or netting fish).
Fish Markers should be capable of standing on their feet for up to 8 hours, working in cold outdoor
conditions, and lifting to 50 pounds. Duties will require exposure to certain FDA approved chemicals
such as Tricaine Methanesulfonate (MS-222), a fish anesthetic agent, while performing fish clipping.
Fish Marker must completely remove adipose fin without injury to the fish.
Fish Marker must properly use anesthetic so as not to endanger the health and wellbeing of the fish being marked.
Fish Marker must handle each fish in such a manner as to avoid internal or external injury to the fish.
Fish Marker will be required to mark a minimum of 2,300 fish per day. If the minimum number is reached before the end of the daily work period, marking will continue until the end of the workday or stop at the discretion of the Project Lead.
