Surveillance agent job description

The incumbent is responsible for performing technical surveillance duties to ensure state and federal gaming laws and policies and procedures are being maintained. He or she will perform surveillance of the gaming floor, parking lot, back-of-the-house areas, outbuildings, and shops by means of complex electronic and video equipment while promoting outstanding guest relations.
Responsibilities

* Responsible for observing, monitoring, and recording all activity occurring in the casino area and record observations in writing as required.
* Record events in table games, slots, cage, hard count, soft count.
* Must have a working knowledge of credit procedures, cash transaction reports, company procedures and Regulatory Regulations.
* Perform duties in compliance with company standards and gaming regulations.
* Assist in the coordination and resolution of emergency situations.
* Responsible for disclosing irregularities, variances from procedures etc., observed during the performance of duties to the immediate attention of management.
* Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate managers of concerns and observations.
* Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces.
* Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
* Perform work regularly and adheres to all Virginia Lottery Regulations.

Qualifications

This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school education, minimum of one (1) or more years of experience in a Security related field or gaming related positions (Cage, Slot, Table Games or Audit) preferred. Analytical, observational, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Casino Surveillance or related surveillance experience is an asset. 20/20 corrected vision is required.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

* Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Virginia Lottery.
* Must successfully pass background check.
* Must successfully pass drug screening.
* Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
* Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.
* Prior experience in the Gaming industry a plus.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

* Knowledge of computer applications.
* Must be able to use a computer and operate efficiently.

ABILITY TO:

* Must be able to work overtime and or change shifts on short notice.
* Must be able to get along with co-workers and work in a team environment.

Job Summary

The Surveillance Role Player will provide instruction and mentoring in support of a Full Mission Profile (FMP) scenario for a Realistic Military Training (RMT) environment. The Role Player will serve in a training scenario to Special Operations Forces (SOF) personnel in both urban and rural environments; be responsible for safeguarding all Government property and classified documents provided for use and at the close of each work period, shall secure Government equipment and classified materials entrusted to you, and act appropriately to preserve and prevent damage or loss to equipment and materials when necessary; travel to CONUS locations as required by the customer as well as other duties as requested, directed, or assigned as per the customer.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Act as a Surveillance Role Player by supporting the duties and functions as outlined by the customer.
* Generate content and inject operational relevance to the scenario based on the approved exercise script.
* Provide feedback on post scenario activities.
* Facilitate the training objectives as a member of a Surveillance Team and executing assigned duties.
* Be present during all phases of contractor support.
* Participate in development of exercise scripts to ensure training objectives are met and facilitate scenarios.
* Comply with all security requirements

Qualifications and Skills

* Must be a US citizen
* Possess a high school diploma, or a GED equivalent (although a bachelor's degree or equivalent is preferred)
* Must have a valid driver's license
* Physically capable of performing duties, functions and activities
* Must be able to use GPS navigational devices and be able to navigate using a map
* Must be able to use Microsoft software for development of surveillance reports
* Minimum of 4+ years working supporting SOF as a Surveillance Role Player
* Counterintelligence (CI) and/or Human Intelligence (HUMINT) related background
* Operational team experience supporting SOF exercises and training events
* Experience with multiple modes of transportation

Specialized Skills

* Formal DoD surveillance course certification is preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

+ Knowledge and Game protection of all casino table games, including Blackjack, Craps, Pai Gow, 3-card and 4-card poker preferred.

+ Observe all casino games (including slots, bingo) for adherence to departmental policies and procedures

+ Monitor all cash operations to include cashiers, main bank, jackpot room and chip room.

+ Safeguard all confidential information and ensure that the Surveillance Department and casino activities are not discussed with any one outside the department

+ Develop and maintain high proficiency knowledge of NIGC MICS and CBMI TICS.

+ Reports all suspicious or attempts of cheating or theft by guest or employees immediately to the Assistant Manager/Supervisor

+ Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of any proficiency in the operation of video monitor console equipment, video retention, camera locations etc.

+ Must be able to multi task.

+ Prepare reports in a complete, factual and legible manner.

+ Ability to obtain a gaming license.

+ Inspect surveillance-recording equipment to ensure proper mode and function.

+ Review shift activity log to become familiar with on-going observations.

+ Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals. Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.

Job Requirements:

+ Must be 21 years old.

+ Must be a high school graduate or GED/equivalent.

+ Six months in the gaming industry, security, investigative work or video surveillance systems preferred.

+ Must be PC literate with good written and verbal skills.

+ Good visual accuracy and hearing.

+ Shift rotations and weekends required.

Work Environment:

Ability to sit for extended lengths of time. Environmental conditions include inside the building, primarily in confined space with reduced lighting.
