You will conduct NHSN surveillance for the entire health system. This will include but not limited to SSI, CLABSI, and VAE surveillance. You will be responsible for reporting all healthcare-associated infections within the hospital while also providing monthly operating reports. You will:
+ Apply an epidemiologic approach to problem solving
+ Serve as the infection control consultant for the Infection Prevention team on surveillance identification
+ Communicate surveillance findings and recommendations to key stakeholders
+ Develop and present educational programs
+ Serve as liaison with Infection Prevention team for required reportable diseases
+ Participate in process improvement activities
Qualifications
We're seeking a deadline-driven, detail-oriented individual with:
* Bachelor's degree in a health-related field
* Solid background in the application of CDC (NHSN) surveillance definitions
* In-depth knowledge of data management, analysis, reporting, and documentation methods used in infection control
* Excellent organizational, prioritizing, and time-management abilities
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
