Eastridge Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a full-time Survey Crew Chief in Indianapolis, IN to join a full-service consulting engineering firm that provides services economic development, landscape architecture and planning, site engineering, stormwater, survey, transportation, wastewater and water services.

Salary : $70,000-$90,000 depending on experience

Survey Crew Chief Responsibilties:

- Performing field work for ALTA/NSPS land title, boundary and topographic surveying

- Completing construction layouts

- Processing field work and providing the surveyor with clear and neat field notes

- Completing deed research

- Completing survey computations

- Performing equipment and vehicle upkeep and maintenance

- Interpreting construction plans

Survey Crew Chief Qualifications:

- Experience with Robotic Total Station and data collection

- Experience with RTK GPS

- Ability to work alone and with other employees

- Valid drivers license

- 2+ years of land surveying experience as a crew chief/party chief or 5+ years of experience as an instrument operator

We are looking for a full-time Survey Crew Chief to join our Survey team in our Woodridge, IL office

General responsibilities include:

• Type of work includes Alta, Boundary, Topographic, Condominium, Route, Residential layout, etc. surveying.

The Qualifications are:

• 2-3 or more years of field surveying experience (Trimble robotic total station and Trimble GPS experience preferred – may be asked to demonstrate proficiency at interview).

• Good communication and computer skills.

• Ability to work as a one-man survey crew.

• Valid driver’s license required.

• Ability and willingness to work outside and work overtime as needed.

• Software skills required include: Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word, AutoCAD is a plus, but not required.

• Willing to train a motivated candidate with a similar background and aptitude.

As a Survey Crew Chief for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will work both independently as well as with crew members conducting the field survey work relating to boundary surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys, topographic surveys, photo control surveys, route surveys, and construction stakeout under the responsible charge of the Registered Professional Surveyor. You will be responsible for the efficient operation of the field crew using standard operating procedures and current health and safety standards. The daily duties include the operation of robotic total stations and GPS receivers to accurately collect relevant data and information in a concise manner as well as cut brush, drive stakes, take detailed notes and diagrams and maintain company equipment and survey vehicles.
+ 5-8 years' survey crew chief experience;

+ Skilled in the use of GPS devices, data collectors and/or Total Station;

+ Work requires independent judgment and initiative;

+ Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying;

+ Knowledge of the principles, practices, and instruments used in computer aided drafting;

+ Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices and construction specifications, plans, and regulations related to construction;

+ Knowledge of industry specific safe workplace principles and practices;

+ Albility to operate motorized equipment;

+ Ability to work long hours outdoors under various field conditions and exposure to traffic, heat, cold, and other adverse conditions;

+ Valid Driver's License.
