This opportunity is open to remote work. SUMMARY This role supports the technical and administrative support for survey-related activities. This role assists in compiling, organizing, and preparing mapping and land conveyance documents, ensuring accuracy and consistency in data, drafting, and documentation across project teams. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in reviewing and organizing incoming survey data packages related to right-of-way, property boundaries, and land acquisition Support the preparation of legal descriptions and plat maps by gathering relevant information and updating templates under the supervision of a licensed surveyor or project lead Assist in assembling QA/QC packages, including closure reports, research materials, and supporting documentation for review Conduct basic research on land title records, deeds, and survey data, under guidance, to support mapping and documentation efforts Input and edit data using CAD and mapping software as directed by the Project Surveyor or technical staff Help maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for survey documents, plats, and legal files Follow established procedures to ensure compliance with survey standards and relevant legal requirements Provide general technical support to survey staff on assigned tasks and help track deliverables and document status Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Working knowledge of surveying principles including boundary determination, real property laws, and survey mathematics Proficiency in interpreting and creating legal descriptions and associated plat maps Familiarity with the California Coordinate System and its application in mapping and survey work Experience using CAD applications (AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar) for surveying and mapping tasks Understanding of relevant laws and standards including the Land Surveyors' Act, Subdivision Map Act, and right-of-way acquisition procedures Ability to interpret survey data and perform precise calculations and measurements Strong written and verbal communication skills Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field Certification as a Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) or progressing toward licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) Demonstrated experience working on public infrastructure projects, particularly large-scale transportation or rail projects Advanced proficiency with CAD software used to generate plat maps and legal descriptions Ability to perform repetitive technical tasks with consistency and accuracy Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment Additional Information Some travel may be required Sponsorship is not offered for this position now or in the future.
