Care will include oxygen therapy, administration of therapeutic aerosols, pulmonary clearance techniques, arterial blood gas draws and interpretation, basic spirometry, mechanical ventilation, emergency life support procedures and airway maintenance. Additional responsibilities include air/ground transport of neonatal/pediatric critical care patients from other hospitals. Skillfully establishes and maintains artificial airways in emergencies. Conforms to infection control policies and procedures. Participates in quality improvement projects as requested. Facilitates patient discharge to home and provides patient and family education. Provides clinical assistance in the orientation of new employees and students on clinical rotation.
