Job Summary
Speech-languagePathologist will provide care to young adult thru geriatric populations in our Inpatient Rehabilitation unit and Skilled Nursing unit at MORH. Speechpathologists, thru assessment and treatment, assist patients to reach their highest level of function in the areas of communication, cognition and swallowing. Treatment plans are formulated and initiated for problems such as dysarthria, apraxia, articulation, language, cognition, swallowing disorders, or voice problems.
Job Requirements
Education
• Required: Master's Degree in Speech Pathology/Communicative Disorders and Sciences
Experience
• Preferred: Prior one year hospital/health care related experience
Skills
• Good clinical expertise, human relations skills and organizational skills required.
• Self-motivated individual who can work independently with little direct supervision required
• Has demonstrated interest in professional growth by attendance at continuing education workshops, and applications of new principles and/or techniques.
• Must have good communication skills and a positive attitude
Licensure/Certification/Registration
• Required: License of Speech Therapy active in the state of Missouri, CCC or CFY candidate AND BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire
