Job Description
The Apprentice Teacher position provides a unique opportunity for talented individuals with limited or no teaching experience to explore the field of education and to gain hands-on practice and the training necessary to become a successful full-time classroom teacher. Apprentice Teachers will have an opportunity to observe best practices in classroom instruction and education reform from experienced teachers and school leaders at a leading charter management organization in Boston. Apprentice Teachers observe and learn from Master Teachers, co-teach with teacher-leaders, provide in-house substitute teaching coverage for teachers, and support teachers with tutoring, grading, and individual or small group student instruction. Depending on school needs and candidate background, Apprentice Teachers may also teach their own class of students, allowing for direct teaching experience within a more limited teaching load. Apprentice Teachers will also assist with a variety of work inside and outside of the classroom, including teaching Enrichment classes, organizing student events, and developing mentoring relationships with students. Through full participation in summer and school-year professional development, as well as regular meetings with an instructional coach, Apprentice Teachers will have many opportunities to gain the experience and support necessary to develop their teaching skills. By the end of the year, Apprentice Teachers will be very strong candidates for full-time teaching positions.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach classes on behalf of Deans and teacher-leaders who are observing other teachers;
Provide substitute teaching coverage for teachers within the school;
Potentially teach one class or small groups of students;
Periodically plan and deliver instruction, gradually taking on more responsibility throughout the year;
Develop teaching skills to potentially become a full-time teacher at the school;
Support students by providing one-on-one and small group tutoring daily, and small group intervention and student support;
Observe Master Teachers in order to improve instructional techniques and classroom management;
Meet regularly with a coach to implement feedback on lessons and instruction;
Teach or help coordinate an Enrichment class;
Assist teachers with instruction, assessments, grading, and other classroom responsibilities;
As appropriate, perform all duties expected of classroom teachers, including but not limited to:
Implementing curricula and activities to meet academic standards;
Designing and implementing assessments that measure progress towards academic standards;
Using assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices;
Participating in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions, events, and trips;
Providing consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior;
Serving as an advisor to a small group of students;
Helping to co-lead advisory/homeroom in the morning and afternoon;
Supervising students during transitions, breakfast, lunch and afterschool;
Being accountable for students' mastery of academic standards;
Communicating effectively with students, families, and colleagues;
Participating in an annual three-week staff orientation and training.

Compensation for this role is between $47,000 - $48,000.

Uncommon Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) teachers are passionate about literature and building an engaging classroom culture. Our teachers develop subject mastery and have a keen sense of the socio-emotional changes middle schoolers experience. All Commonwealth charter teachers must either have an appropriate MA educator's license or pass required the MTEL(s) including the Communications and Literacy MTEL , Subject Specific MTEL, and the MTEL SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) Endorsement within first year of employment. All core academic teachers* assigned to teach English learners are required to earn the SEI endorsement. Any teacher without a SEI endorsement has one year from date of assignment to teach ELs, to earn the MTEL SEI endorsement.

14. Analyzes inspired oxygen concentration using various oxygen analyzers.
15. Calibrates monitors and maintains Transcutaneous Oxygen Monitors, End Tidal CO2 and pulse Oximetry monitors.
16 Assists in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation as part of Code Team primarily providing airway management and manual resuscitation. Commonly administers drugs via the endotracheal tube during cardiopulmonary rescue e.g. Lidocaine, Atropine Sulfate and Epinephrine.
17. Documents therapy, patient assessment, and interventions performed and test results in the progress notes of the medical record in a concise, accurate, and thorough manner.
18. Transcribes a detailed shift note for all patient's cared for during the shift.
19. Responsible for acknowledging the proper assembly of all respiratory therapy equipment prior to and during patient use.
20. Performs daily rounds and fairly bills patients for services rendered. Attend rounds daily with the intensive care unit critical care team and is an active participant in the patient's care.

Overtime Pay: Up to 25%
Duty location impacts pay rates; locality pay for federal law enforcement is higher in some locations than others. A fully trained BPA may be eligible for up to an additional 25% of base pay per the BPA Pay Reform Act of 2014. This is a career ladder position with a grade level progression from GL-9 to GS-11 to GS-12. You will be eligible for a promotion to the next higher grade level (without re-applying) once you successfully complete 52 weeks in the lower grade level.
All Border Patrol Agents may select from an array of federal employment benefits that include health and insurance plans, a generous annual and sick leave program, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, a retirement plan that is similar to traditional and ROTH 401(k) offerings. *Recruitment Incentive* Newly appointed Border Patrol Agents (as defined in 5 CFR 575.102) will be offered up to a $20,000 incentive. Duties and Responsibilities:
As a BPA, you will be part of our 60,000+ workforce that strives to protect the American people by safeguarding our borders, deterring illicit activity, and enhancing the nation's economic prosperity. Being a BPA makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) profession.
Typical assignments include:
· Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
· Preventing and apprehending aliens and smugglers of aliens at or near the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions to include using infrared scopes during night operations.
· Interpreting and following tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry of persons or contraband.
· Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks.
· Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using a variety of government assets such as vehicles, horses, vessels, watercraft, off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and motorcycles for the accomplishment of the USBP Mission.
Qualifications:
GL-9: You qualify for the GL-9 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
· Performing physical searches of detained individuals, their vehicles, and their immediate surroundings for weapons, contraband, currency, and other evidence.
· Apprehending, physically restraining, or working with law enforcement officials to identify or apprehend violators of state, federal, or immigration laws.
· Proficient in the use of firearms, preparing investigative reports, serving court orders (e.g., warrants, subpoenas, etc.), and gathering evidence for criminal cases prosecuted through the court system.
If you have previous or current law enforcement or military law enforcement experience, you may qualify at the GS-11 grade level.
GS-11: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, with the authority granted by the state or government to enforce laws, make arrests, and investigate crimes, performing primary duties in an official law enforcement capacity such as:
· Utilizing intelligence information to track illegal operations, criminal activity, threats to our nation, and/or contraband while serving as a state, federal, or military law enforcement official.
· Leading investigations of fraud, contraband, criminal activity, threats to our nation, and/or illegal operations to determine sources and patterns while serving as a state, federal, or military law enforcement official.
· Apprehending violators of state, federal, or immigration laws by utilizing various forms of complex technology that include surveillance, detection, situation awareness systems, and/or communications equipment.
The above experience will be applied in connection with the following: Make arrests and exercise sound judgment in the use of firearms; deal effectively with people in a courteous manner in connection with law enforcement matters; analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions; or develop and maintain contact with a network of informants.
There are no education substitutions for the GL-9 or GS-11 grade-level Border Patrol Agent opportunities.

Citizenship: You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position.
Residency: You must have had primary U.S. residency (including protectorates as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years.
Age Restriction: In accordance with Public Law 100-238, this position is covered under law enforcement retirement provisions. Works cooperatively with VNA, palliative care, and hospice teams, as well as physicians, referral sources, and the referral department, so that patients meeting established criteria are identified for hospice eligibility or a transition to hospice, ensuring that patients are receiving the right level of care at the right time. This position manages the inpatient hospice house, staff, and facilitates the best patient practices and care for our patients and families. This position is intended to cover our High Pointe House Facility in Haverhill, MA, and Skilled Nursing Facility management and oversight.

Minimum Qualifications:

Monitors and evaluates palliative care and hospice patient population census, trends, processes and outcomes at a facility base.
Oversees of the day-to-day clinical operations at High Pointe House in addition to our growing census of patients residing in SNF/ALF settings.
Develops, implements and monitors clinical protocols to achieve desired outcomes promoting palliative care and hospice philosophy, holding staff accountable to current clinical standards of palliative and hospice practice and policies and procedures.
Promotes and maintains full implementation of the palliative care and hospice programs. Develops/revises program-specific policies and procedures as needed.
Communicates with appropriate individuals regarding the palliative care and hospice programs, i.e. Medical Directors, hospital personnel, vendors, director, managers and staff to ensure optimal care.
Ensures staff are aware of the palliative care and hospice programs by actively promoting and training staff through ongoing activities such as individual outreach, care management activities, attendance at team meetings, etc.
Develops and implements Standards of Practice in collaboration with the Director of Hospice and Palliative Care.
Develops and updates weekly, monthly and program reports. Utilizes data to manage costs and outcomes.
Works cooperatively and collaboratively with team members to address individual clinician competency toward the palliative care and hospice clinical protocols, best practice standards, and other processes and outcomes.
Develops effective relationships with referral sources.
Works with UR to ensure availability of documentation and information needed for payment. Approves only invoices related to the delivery of hospice care.
Reviews plan of care with clinicians and ensures primary physician is updated adequately and assists with obtaining orders from physicians as indicated.
Conducts random chart audits. Follows through on any areas that appear to be deficient or incorrect according to the Palliative regulations, Hospice conditions of participation, and agency policies.
Provides Documentation to Meet Patient Needs, Legal and Reimbursement Requirements, and Other Agency Requirements.
Arranges for coverage when not available including providing a detailed report to the covering clinician and obtaining a report from the covering clinician.
Manages palliative and hospice clinicians as well as ancillary staff to assure program and agency goals are met.
Utilizes team building skills and problem solving to promote optimal team performance and effectiveness. Directs and ensures completion of orientation of new staff.
Assesses staff education needs, provides training, provides day-to-day supervision, delegates appropriately, and provides constructive feedback and takes disciplinary action to members of the team when necessary.
Evaluates palliative care and hospice staff according to policies, procedures and position requirements. When appropriate, recommends merit increases and staff assignment according to staff performance.
Communicates effectively and maintains positive working relationships with other members of the health care team, administration and other departments. Educates clinicians on protocols for care.
Maintains effective working relationships with patients, families and referral sources.
