Swank Construction Company, LLC is looking for a Wall/Wire Saw Operator to join our Virginia Beach Saw/Seal Division. Position Summary: The Concrete Saw Operator position is responsible for the efficient and precise operation of wire saw machines to cut materials according to specifications. Tasks will include setting up and calibrating machines, monitoring cutting processes, and ensuring the quality of the finished products. Specific tasks include core drilling, flat sawing, wall sawing, and wire sawing. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Core drilling, flat sawing, wall sawing, and wire sawing. Set up wire saw machines by installing and securing cutting wires, adjusting tension, and configuring machine settings. Calibrate machines to achieve accurate cuts based on project specifications. Load and unload materials onto the wire saw machine. Secure materials in place to prevent movement during the cutting process. Operate wire saw machines to cut materials such as stone, metal, or concrete. Monitor the cutting process to ensure precision and adjust machine settings as needed. Inspect finished products for quality and make any necessary adjustments. Caring for company equipment/machines by performing routine maintenance on wire saw machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn components. Report any malfunctions or issues to maintenance staff for repair. Keeps job site clean of all unused/waste materials and ensures all equipment is stored in a safe and secure Ability to use or learn how to use different equipment/hand and power Ensure the practice of safety standards in accordance with company policies and OSHA. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Willingness to perform and learn different aspects of the wall/wire saw operator position. Perform all other tasks and follow instructions as directed by. They are responsible for oversight of through reviewing designs and plans. The Project Engineer is a critical component of the team through document managing, providing trade partner support, planning, and execution. As a part of the Concrete division, you will... Maintain record documents. Know the contract drawings/specifications. Recognize disparities between contract drawings and specifications. Set up and submit requests for information. Review shop drawings and product submittals for conformance with the contract documents and for coordination with the work of other trades. Track change orders. Prepare CO proposals as assigned. Develop feel for value of work, either through review of original unit prices or own observations and experiences. Develop an understanding of the sequence of work. Review and interpret the project schedule. Be able to read/interpret layout drawings. Understand the fundamentals of layout, and the use of instruments and other layout tools. Examine contract drawings for conflicts. Recognize where conflicts are most likely to occur. Prepare correspondence as assigned. Develop clear, concise writing style. Know and use appropriate mediums of communication. As an ideal candidate, you will have... a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent, previous experience in a Construction Management Internship or Co-Op position preferred, experience with construction software is preferred (i.e. Procore, Primavera P6, Viewpoint, etc.), evidenced leadership, critical thinking and decision-making capability, a desire to learn and experience construction, excellent oral and written communication, ability to prioritize, manage time, accountability, ability to establish relationships with internal and external partners.
