Full Time Details: Day shift, 64 hours per pay period, works every other weekend, holidays as scheduled.
Per Diem Details: Per diem employees must work a minimum of two weekend shifts per month and must work one spring holiday and one winter holiday.
Responsibility:
1. Sets up coffee break. Brews coffee and cleans up residents' coffee break
2. Reviews menu and preps, as needed, soups, vegetables, salads, juices, desserts, etc. on established time schedule.
3. Stocks cabinets and drawers with paper supplies.
4. Attends to all food on steam table to ensure palatability and proper serving temperatures
5. Advises Cook of shortages as soon as possible
6. Delivers trays to ill residents as approved by the Apartment Manager, or Executive Chef.
7. Maintains and updates list of those special diets; advises Cook(s) of same. Also maintains lists of carry-to's, trays, and those who are away.
8. Serves food according to diets, portion control procedures, sanitary regulations and facility guidelines.
9. Sets, clears, cleans and resets dining room tables.
10. Operates and cleans food service equipment. Loads, runs, and unloads dishwasher.
11. Vacuums dining room on weekends when housekeeper is off. Sweeps and mops kitchen areas, mop room (except for those areas done by Cook), cleans counters, etc.
12. Sends leftovers to C Building; disposes of other food waste in accordance with established policies.
13. Keep working areas clean, orderly and safe.
14. Attend various facility committee meetings as deemed necessary;
15. Performs other related duties as assigned
16. Make sure all Assisted Living and Carry-to residents have condiments on tables before lunch.
17. Delivers Assisted Living breakfast
18. Washes tablecloths and napkins, aprons, and dirty rags everyday.
19. Make sure everything is filled and ready for next day.
20. Clean dish room everyday
21. Call C building before 10:00 am for any inventory you may need.
22. Clean steamtable everyday.
23. Maintains a safe work environment and exhibits safe work practices.

The Dietary Aide will assist the dietitian and the cook with the coordination and serving of nutritious and therapeutic meals and snacks for the elderly participants of LIFE Pittsburgh's Adult Day Health Center. Ensures all meals served conform to prescribed diet orders and meet the standards for quality and safety

REQUIREMENTS -
High School Diploma or GED
Knowledge of therapeutic diets
Knowledge of infection control standards and practices
Ability to follow through with direction given by dietitian
Minimum 1 year experience in healthcare setting in a dietary department

Job Description *Full-Time requires working eight hour shifts from 6am-2:30pm or 9:30am-6pm as scheduled. Every other weekend and every other holiday is also required. Full-Time employees are scheduled 5 days per week or 10 days per bi-weekly pay period.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Able to perform assigned positions as outlined in department responsibility schedules.
Maintains clean, sanitary work areas. Uses sanitary practices. Completes daily cleaning assignments.
Ensures that food items and leftovers are stored properly.
Cleans and maintains equipment. Reports maintenance needs.
Attends and participates in dept. meetings and facility in-services.
Follows department, facility and regulatory policies, procedures and standards.
Assists with the training of new staff members.
Conducts self in a professional manner.
Performs other duties as required for proper operation of facility/department and as assigned by Supervisor.
Recognize your role as part of the QAIP (Quality Assurance Improvement Performance) efforts of your organization.
Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAIP work.
Carry out QAIP roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAIP efforts.
Look for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organization.
Communicate to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAIP project of detecting barriers preventing project success.
Support QAIP efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude) including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.
Recognize your role for Trauma Informed Care: Promotes a culture of safety, empowerment and healing; recognizes that everyone who interacts at Rest Haven may have past traumatic experience and protects trauma survivors from being re-traumatized.
Recognize your role for Compliance and Ethics: Participates in annual compliance and ethics training. Follows code of conduct reporting any compliance and ethics concerns.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Well-lighted and ventilated work areas.
Stands and walks during most of the day.
Bends, stoops, lifts, push, pulls, etc. as required.
Subject to cold, heat and cleaning solutions.
Communicates with others throughout the workday. Subject to interruptions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
Must be able to cooperate and communicate with others.
Must maintain personal hygiene and follow the department uniform policy.
Adequate health to perform the essential job functions.
