What we're looking for…
Our Chemical Mixer Associates are the driving force for Oatey's chemical product manufacturing operations. In this role you will support our customers by making chemical batch mixes using established formulations and methods to ensure that safety, quality and production goals are met.
Work with a safety-first mindset, to include using company provided PPE.
Complete mixing tasks on a rotational basis as assigned by the supervisor/team leader of the department
Maintain workplace organization and cleanliness throughout the day.
Perform minor equipment set-up and adjustments.
Operate all necessary mixing and testing equipment.
Gather and verify all raw materials for each batch mix
Follow standard operating procedures to make required batch mixes.
Maintain mixes for all lines while performing other duties assigned by department.
Complete required documentation.
Complete production records and data entry as required

Self-motivated with the ability to work at a fast pace to meet production targets.
Ability to work as a member of a team to meet department goals.
High attention to detail.
Ability to read and comprehend work orders, charge sheets and PPE requirements.
Respirator fit test and respirator questionnaire required upon hire and annually.
24-hour HAZMAT training upon hire, and 8-hour HAZMAT refresher training annually.

JOB DUTIES
* Ability to accurately measure, weigh, and add chemical raw materials manually or automatically
* Manufacture material according to batch cards and mixing work instructions using computer software
* Understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
* Perform routine batch quality checks

Chemical Mixers are responsible for preparing materials and operating process equipment, including furnaces, mixers, mills and sifters, for a wide variety of both wet and dry chemicals, including getters, fuels, oxidizers, sprays, rubber, lacquers, acids, and fluorescent powders, under general supervision.
The Chemical Mixer A:
Uses the metric system to measure quantities of liquid and solid chemicals and maintains an accurate inventory through proper reporting of material usage, minimizing waste and ensuring that measuring devices are properly calibrated.
Ensures all operating procedures are followed and adheres to procedural standards regarding sampling and testing techniques and proper handling and preparation of materials.
Follows all safety procedures including utilizing the proper methods required for handling, storing and dispensing of hazardous waste and following all general site safety rules.
Maintains required log sheets and utilizes all pertinent documentation (MCP, MPIs, SDS, Quality Systems Procedures)
Packs chemicals according to required shipping specifications.
Maintains an organized work area and maintains the functionality of all equipment including general order and housekeeping, ensuring accurate supply of materials and supplies, reporting maintenance/calibration services needs of equipment and performing basic troubleshooting of equipment.
Has an understanding of company products as well as all the mixing equipment
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
3 years-experience in a manufacturing environment; preference for compounding or mixing experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent

Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide as well as making the necessary conversions.
Able to physically handle 55-gallon drums and powder bags up to 60 lbs.

What we're looking for…
Our Chemical Mixer Associates are the driving force for Oatey's chemical product manufacturing operations. In this role you will support our customers by making chemical batch mixes using established formulations and methods to ensure that safety, quality and production goals are met.
Work with a safety-first mindset, to include using company provided PPE.
Complete mixing tasks on a rotational basis as assigned by the supervisor/team leader of the department
Maintain workplace organization and cleanliness throughout the day.
Perform minor equipment set-up and adjustments.
Operate all necessary mixing and testing equipment.
Gather and verify all raw materials for each batch mix
Follow standard operating procedures to make required batch mixes.
Maintain mixes for all lines while performing other duties assigned by department.
Complete required documentation.
Complete production records and data entry as required
Other duties as assigned.

Self-motivated with the ability to work at a fast pace to meet production targets.
Ability to work as a member of a team to meet department goals.
High attention to detail.
Ability to read and comprehend work orders, charge sheets and PPE requirements.
Respirator fit test and respirator questionnaire required upon hire and annually.
24-hour HAZMAT training upon hire, and 8-hour HAZMAT refresher training annually.

Pay Rate: $24 - $27 depending on experience.
BASIC FUNCTION
To perform data entry and administrative duties to support the operations of the Manufacturing department.
JOB DUTIES
Ability to accurately measure, weigh, and add chemical raw materials manually or automatically
Manufacture material according to batch cards and mixing work instructions using computer software
Understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Perform routine batch quality checks
Sanitizes mixing equipment per work instructions at scheduled intervals
Monitors integrity of mixes and shuts down operation if out of compliance
Assists in training of new mixers and assists other lines as needed
Promotes and follows all safety guidelines and procedures
Recommends safety improvements as needed
Performs various other duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED required
3-4 years of batch mixing experience in hand cleaner or related industry
Must be computer literate
Must be certified to drive all types of lift trucks: low-lift, fork-lift, high-lift

What you will do:

Position Responsibilities
