Sweet Factory company history timeline

2002

In 2002, Janeen Russell the Beardsley’s daughter, purchased the store continuing the family relationship with The Sweet Shop.

Alpine Confections contracted Sweet Candy to produce a saltwater taffy line in commemoration of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games held in Salt Lake City.

2012

2014

In February 2014 a German cook created the largest gummy candy on record.

2018

Right across the street from the original Tremblay’s Sweet Shop, Tremblay’s Sweet City opened its doors in June of 2018 to carry edible cookie dough, macarons, truffles, ice cream, cupcakes, cake pops, and novelty candies that fill the store.

In 2018, Ohio-based Spangler Candy Co. bought the company and NECCO wafers went on hiatus.
