Sweetgreen job in Los Angeles, CA
Sr. Manager, Media & Marketplace
_________________________________________________________________________________________
About the Role
At Sweetgreen, growth is about more than demand, it's about how, where, and why customers choose us. As Manager, Marketplace & Media, you'll play a critical role in shaping how Sweetgreen drives incremental traffic and transactions through third-party marketplaces and paid media, while protecting brand integrity and long-term business health.
This is not a traditional performance marketing role. It's a hybrid growth position that sits at the intersection of marketplace strategy, paid media, analytics, and cross-functional execution. You'll own day-to-day performance across delivery platforms and paid channels, while serving as the primary marketing lead for both marketplace partners and our media agency.
You are both strategic and executional - equally comfortable building a POV on incrementality and CAC as you are managing agencies, negotiating platform opportunities, and optimizing performance in real time.
Key Responsibilities
Paid Media Strategy & Agency Leadership
Own paid media investment decisions and performance outcomes, including budget allocation, channel mix, efficiency, and incremental impact across all media levers
Act as the primary internal owner of Sweetgreen's media agency relationship, ensuring clear briefs, strong execution, and accountability to performance goals.
Translate business and campaign objectives into actionable media strategies across paid social, search, and marketplace media.
Review, pressure-test, and approve media plans with a strong POV on efficiency, reach, and incremental impact.
Partner with the agency to identify testing opportunities, optimize spend, and evolve strategy based on performance learnings.
Marketplace Strategy & Partner Management
Own Sweetgreen's performance across third-party delivery platforms (e.g., Uber Eats, DoorDash, Grubhub), including traffic, sales, customer metrics, and ROI.
Serve as the day-to-day marketing lead for marketplace partners, managing relationships, negotiations, and joint planning.
Lead planning and execution of marketplace promotions, exclusives, and tests from concept through post-analysis.
Partner with Analytics to measure incrementality, avoid cannibalization, and continuously optimize marketplace investment.
Growth & Experimentation
Design and run test-and-learn initiatives across marketplaces and paid media to unlock incremental growth.
Evaluate new formats, value constructs, bundles, and platform mechanics.
Synthesize results into clear recommendations to scale, iterate, or sunset initiatives.
Cross-Functional Integration
Partner closely with Finance to ensure marketplace and media programs meet margin and ROAS goals
Collaborate with Brand, Menu, Analytics, Culinary, Ops, Supply Chain, and Tech teams to ensure initiatives are executable and aligned with the broader calendar.
Serve as the connective tissue between external partners and internal teams, keeping workstreams moving with clarity and urgency.
Measurement & Communication
Own performance reporting and insights across marketplaces and paid media.
Communicate results, learnings, and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders.
Help build repeatable frameworks and best practices that scale beyond individual campaigns.
You'll Thrive in This Role If You…
Are a growth-minded media expert and marketer who thinks in incrementality, not just volume
Enjoy balancing performance rigor with strategic judgment
Are comfortable operating in ambiguity and moving quickly
Love digging into data and uncovering not just observations, but insights
Take pride in ownership and follow-through
Like being the person who brings clarity and momentum to complex work
Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in media buying, growth marketing, performance marketing, or marketplace management
Experience working with media agencies and managing paid media programs for offline and online brands to drive topline business results at scale
Experience partnering with or managing third-party marketplaces
Strong analytical skills with experience evaluating media measurement, ROI, attribution and incrementality
Clear, confident communicator with strong project management skills
