Crisis Intervention Specialist - Brunswick

This Brunswick based position provides assessment, support and stabilization services in the community, within crisis stabilization units and over a brief 30-day post-crisis stabilization period. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:
* Respond to requests for crisis intervention, consultation and support from person served, family members, community-based service providers and state agencies in order to resolve crisis situations involving children and/or adults who are experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis.
* In collaboration with the caller, determine the need for a face-to-face assessment and, if needed, negotiates a meeting site convenient for the individual that provides safety for all involved.
* Communicate directly with persons experiencing a crisis in order to assess mental status, current level of functioning, and the person's wishes and goals for crisis resolution.
* Develop a crisis stabilization plan with the person served and family or guardian, if involved, based on a comprehensive crisis assessment that includes mental status and risk assessments.
* May request protective custody interventions by law enforcement personnel in order to resolve potentially life-threatening situations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Provide customer service within established deadlines, consistent with organizational values, standards, and policies.
* Demonstrate leadership in Case-Coordination.
* Complete timely, professionally written, documentation.
* Manage insurance authorizations in a fiscally responsible manner.
* Use quality Collaborative Documentation to maintain insurance required documentation.

* Demonstrate Trauma-Informed Treatment.
* Provide Integrated Care by including the client's Natural Supports and Providers.
* Provide a clinical experience for student interns and conditionally licensed therapists, as appropriate.

Clinician - Child Residential

This position will serve a small caseload of children/adolescents, their families, guardians, and other care providers through individual, group, and family therapy in a residential setting. In conjunction with the residential supervisor, provides clinical leadership to program staff by implementing the treatment plan in the residential milieu.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Assessment
1. Use organization's established tools and procedures to formulate assessment of the child/adolescent and his/her family. This includes level of care and risk assessments as needed. Involve family members and significant others.
2. Completes assessment to make diagnosis with possible collaboration with others .
B. Treatment Planning and Service Delivery
1. With the child/adolescent and his/her family, develop an Individualized Service Plan (ISP), Individual Crisis Management Plan (ICMP), and a Discharge and Aftercare Plan and other documents associated with the Record such as the Initial Assessment (IA) or Service Update (SUD).
2. Offer treatment to the child/adolescent and his/her family by using family-centered clinical techniques and therapies (including individual, group and family therapy as indicated.)
3. Assist in developing and monitoring specialized behavioral programs, as indicated.
4. Identify concrete service needs and help the family make a referral for community based services.
C. Documentation and Accountability
1. Achieve program-specific productivity expectations.
2. Maintain historical records by documenting service delivery and ensuring the timely completion of all programmatic paperwork documentation and electronic record.
3. Assure quality service for clients by enforcing rules, regulations, and legal requirements with clients.
4. Adhere to professional code of ethics.
5. Attend and participate in supervision.
6. Complete necessary documentation to ensure funding.
D. Provide a clinical experience for student interns as appropriate
EDUCATION:
* Master's degree in either social work, psychology, clinical counseling or other comparable mental health program.

This position is located in Saco/Biddeford area and works on Sweetser's Crisis Stabilization Unit. Provide crisis stabilization services to adults who are in a psychiatric crisis. This position will interact with the client in a positive environment that is assessed as necessary to prevent de-compensation or acute psychiatric hospitalization.

* Cover staff needing to leave early after arriving to work and unplanned callouts.
* Rotate between buildings and help overnights with general duties, and ensure all overnights are awake/alert.
* Provide overnight transportation as needed. Provide additional support to buildings with particularly acute residents.
* Salt walkways before day staff arrive in inclement weather.
EDUCATION:
* High School Diploma or equivalency.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
* MHRT-1 certification upon hire or completion of certification within 60 days of employment.
