Responsible for a pre-season meeting with parents if required by the Athletic Director. This meeting is an in person meeting. Responsible for organizing staff supervision on the bus/van going to and from away events. We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual to work with our swimmers' grades K-12, Head Diving Coach, Assistant Coaches, Parents and Volunteers.The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years coaching experience, head coaching experience preferred, strong leadership and communication skills, the ability to connect with children from grades K-12, and an infectious enthusiasm for the sport of swimming. In addition, will have the drive and desire to improve the competitiveness of the team, while creating a fun and positive environment for the swim team members, coaches and families.The candidate will work closely with the Swim Team Board, Lansdale Borough Leadership and swim team parent representatives to carry out the many day-to-day responsibilities of the coaching staff. Practices and Meets: The swim season runs from Memorial Day until the first week in August. Meets are held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings in June and July, as well as a few Saturday invitationals. Regular attendance for these events is required. Preseason meetings may be required. The Lansdale Swim Team is looking for a Head Swimming and Diving Coach for the 2026 Bux Mont Swim League (Bux Mont Swim League) season. We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual to work with our swimmers' grades K-12, Head Diving Coach, Assistant Coaches, Parents and Volunteers. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years coaching experience, head coaching experience preferred, strong leadership and communication skills, the ability to connect with children from grades K-12, and an infectious enthusiasm for the sport of swimming. In addition, will have the drive and desire to improve the competitiveness of the team, while creating a fun and positive environment for the swim team members, coaches and families. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintains active surveillance of the pool area while pool is in operation. Performs lifeguard duties with Lifeguard II and/or Head Lifeguard. Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly. Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures. Completes related reports as required. Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants and other staff while enforcing pool rules and regulations. Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs. Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.). Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment. Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area. Maintains accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state Health Department code. Performs safety and program equipment checks and ensures equipment is available as needed. Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving. Performs: chemical testing, bathing loads, and water conditions, as required, and documents results and takes appropriate action. Completes accident/incident reports for any occurrences while on duty. Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times. Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings. Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the success of the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Minimum age of 15.2. Certifications: Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED, and First Aid.3. Certification: Current YMCA Lifeguard or American Red Cross Lifeguard.4. Ability to demonstrate (pre-hire) and maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness.5. Completion of required trainings. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility. Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness.2. Meet strength and lifting requirements.3. See and observe all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility.
