Recertification every two years will be re-taking the full class or recertifying with Advanced Swimming Techniques or Advanced Teaching Techniques. Must attend at least one, seven-week session of training with an experienced instructor before teaching independently (shadowing). Must have experience in water safety. Must have knowledge of teaching basic swimming strokes to all levels, and have the ability to demonstrate each skill effectively. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, volunteers, members, and participants is essential.
