As an Aquatics Swim Instructor, you will work in a fast-paced environment. You will help both adults and children improve their swimming. The starting wage is negotiable with prior experience. This is a part-time position. Shifts are available between the hours Monday - Thursday 9am-7pm and Sunday 9am-1:15pm. We require our employees to work a minimum of 2 days/week. Responsibilities: Make sure everyone is safe. Love and respect students while teaching them to swim. Swim Instructor Responsibilities Conduct private (1-1) and small group swim lessons. Schedule swim lessons with flexibility. Travel safely to and from clients pool locations. Create custom lesson plans tailored to each student's ability and learning style. Assess student's skills, monitor student's progress and adapt lessons to meet student's & clients needs. Provide a fun, full and tracked learning experience for our students & clients. Ensure safety of the student at all times. Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Prepare and maintain appropriate incident reports. Present professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service. Perform various duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility. Make sure the pool area is always properly supervised and attended in accordance to American Red Cross standards. Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.Position Qualifications and Requirements: Keep and maintain Red Cross Lifeguard certification, Red Cross CPR/AED certification for adult, infant and swimmer. Previous swim instruction experience is required. Must be able to successfully complete all lifeguarding pre-requisites to American Red Cross standards. Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 75lbs. See Lifeguard Job Description for further lifeguarding requirements while working as a deck supervisor. Uniforms: Lifeguards are required to wear SafeSplash uniforms which include a white SafeSplash Lifeguard t-shirt and royal blue shorts. SafeSplash Swim School will provide one (1) t-shirt per calendar year per employee. Additional uniforms must be purchased by the employee from SafeSplash Swim School at or below cost. The uniform must be maintained in a clean, professional manner. If at any time a supervisor determines an employee's uniform is inappropriate he/she may require the employee to purchase an additional uniform. If at any time a uniform is not being worn during assigned instructing hours a supervisor will ask you to put on your uniform. If no uniform is present you will be required to buy a new uniform or be sent home without pay.
