Swim Instructor -Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to): The main focus of a swim instructor is to teach swimming skills in accordance with SafeSplash curriculum in a fun, positive manner. Provide continuous, positive corrective feedback to students and customers on their swimming efforts. Structure class time appropriately to incorporate repetition, reinforcement, and introduction of required skills. Ensure swimmer safety. Maintain proper equipment and time organization to ensure timely class start times. Position Qualifications and Requirements: A demonstrated passion for working with kids. Previous swim instruction experience is preferred, but not required. Our extensive training program will prepare you to provide the highest quality swim instruction. Current CPR. We will provide training if not currently certified. Special consideration given to instructors with experience teaching swimmers age 6 months to 10 years and Special Needs. Training in the SafeSplash curriculum will be provided. Candidates must be able to work weekday afternoons/evenings and/or weekends. Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds in weight. Job Duties and Responsibilities * Greets and interacts with Members * Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aid * Ensures swimmers are aware of potentially dangerous swim areas and activities * Keeps the pool area clean and orderly to ensure the safety of the Members Position Requirements * Working towards a High School Diploma or GED * Lifeguard and First Aid Certified * Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time * Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services * Ability to swim 300 yards/meters without stopping * Ability to tread water for 1 minute * Ability to swim, retrieve a 10 lb diving brick from the bottom of the pool and swim the brick to the top without stopping * Ability to routinely bend to raise more than 20 lbs Preferred Requirements * 6 months of customer service experience Life Time is a place for everyone.
