Current American Red Cross CPR-PR/AED, First Aid for adult, swimmer and infant required.
WSI certification preferred.
Special consideration given to instructors with experience teaching swimmers age 6 months to 10 years and Special Needs.
Training in the SafeSplash curriculum will be provided.
Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds in weight.
Uniforms:Instructors are required to wear SafeSplash uniforms which include logoed female one-piece suits and male board shorts. SafeSplash Swim School will cover 50% of the cost of one uniform per calendar year per employee. Additional uniforms must be purchased by the employee from SafeSplash Swim School at or below cost. The uniform must be maintained in a clean, professional manner. If at any time a supervisor determines an employee's uniform is inappropriate, he/she may require the employee to purchase an additional uniform. If at any time a uniform is not being worn during assigned instructing hours a supervisor will ask you to put on your uniform. If no uniform is present, you will be required to buy a new uniform or be sent home without pay.

Previous swim instruction experience is required.
Current American Red Cross CPR-PR/AED, First Aid for adult, swimmer and infant required.
WSI certification preferred.
Special consideration given to instructors with experience teaching swimmers age 6 months to 10 years and Special Needs.
Training in the SafeSplash curriculum will be provided.
Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds in weight.
Uniforms:Instructors are required to wear SafeSplash uniforms which include logoed female one piece suits and male board shorts. SafeSplash Swim School will cover 50% of the cost of one uniform per calendar year per employee. Additional uniforms must be purchased by the employee from SafeSplash Swim School at or below cost. The uniform must be maintained in a clean, professional manner. If at any time a supervisor determines an employee's uniform is inappropriate he/she may require the employee to purchase an additional uniform. If at any time a uniform is not being worn during assigned instructing hours a supervisor will ask you to put on your uniform. If no uniform is present you will be required to buy a new uniform or be sent home without pay. Qualifications:
Applicant must possess a DOE (L or Q) security clearance or meet requirements that reasonably assure a (Q) security clearance can be obtained and maintained.
Applicant must possess at least five years of demonstrated experience and knowledge of law enforcement or security methodologies.
Applicant must possess a DOE Security Police Officer (SPO) certification or meet requirements that reasonably assure a DOE SPO certification will be received in a timely manner.
Applicant must or should achieve a firearm qualification score of 270 or higher on their Basic Security Police Officer Training (BSPOT) firearm qualification (Recommended / Optional)
Applicant must successfully complete the appropriate DOE certification courses for the instructor position (e.g., BIT = Basic Instructor Training and IFIC= Intermediate Force Instructor (Defensive Tactics) Certification)
Applicants must successfully complete the American Red Cross First Aid/CPR & AED Instructor Certification Course
It is recommended that the applicant have the ability to successfully complete the DOE Firearms Instructor Certification (FIC) Course
It is recommended that the applicant have previous experience as an instructor to include teaching, testing and evaluating students on various Protective Force security systems, policies, and procedures.
Applicants must have strong writing skills and be able to develop various documents using Microsoft Office tools and applications.

Grassroots & Club Program Development

Establish family communication protocols and swimmer progress tracking tools
Develop, hire, and mentor coaching and instructional staff across all age groups and skill levels
Operational Leadership
Ensure facility usage supports both competitive training and community access
Coordinate with internal departments (Aquatics, Performance, Events, Operations) for facility readiness and support
Track athlete performance and retention metrics to inform program improvement and growth
Represent The St. James professionally with families, schools, and the regional swimming community
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Sport Management, Education, or related field (Master's preferred)
Minimum 7 years of coaching/program leadership experience, with at least 3 in a senior-level or head coach role
Proven track record of athlete development, team growth, and college-level placements
In-depth understanding of elite stroke technique, training methodology, and competitive pathways
Experience managing staff and scaling multi-tiered swim programming
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed
