Being a swim instructor, you will be provided the training to teach swim lessons to children and adults, starting at 3-months old, following the British Swim School aquatics program that is gentle, fun, and progressive. You will be assigned to a class schedule developed by manager(s) and interact with swimmers, and parents and/or guardians.
Your Typical Responsibilities:
Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays afternoons are a must and preferably Thursdays as well.
Reports directly to and supports the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s).
Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and program standards, maintaining certifications throughout employment.
Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings (3pm-7pm), weekends (8am- 1pm), and holidays as required by business needs.
Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and be in the water for the duration of the shift.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion.
Enthusiastic personality.
Comfortable in and around the water. Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed!
Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment.
Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with children.
Swimming experience: 1-2 years preferred but not required.
Customer service skills: 1 year preferred
Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Nuclear Power Plant Operations Instructor to join our training team. This role is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining training programs for licensed and non-licensed plant operators in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. The instructor ensures operational excellence and safety through effective classroom instruction, simulator training, and on-the-job training.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and evaluate training programs based on the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) model.
Deliver classroom and simulator-based instruction to licensed Reactor Operators (ROs), Senior Reactor Operators (SROs), and other plant personnel.
Conduct initial, continuing, requalification, and remedial training programs for control room operators.
Prepare lesson plans, training aids, and examination materials.
Operate and maintain the simulator for training scenarios, drills, and evaluations.
Monitor student performance, provide feedback, and maintain training records in compliance with NRC, INPO, and site-specific requirements.
Coordinate with operations and engineering departments to ensure training reflects current plant conditions and procedures.
Support NRC inspections and audits related to the training program.
Participate in the analysis of plant events and incorporate lessons learned into the training curriculum.
Stay current with changes in regulations, industry best practices, and plant operations.
Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, nuclear technology, or related field.
5+ years of experience in nuclear power plant operations, including licensed RO or SRO experience.
In-depth knowledge of NRC regulations and INPO guidelines related to operator training.
Proficiency in the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT).
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Current or previous SRO license or certification.
Prior experience as a nuclear instructor or training program developer.
Experience with simulator operation and maintenance.

Estimated Starting Salary Range
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $121,000 - $143,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Qualifications:

Our orientation and mobility (O&M) training program equips individuals with the skills needed to travel safely and independently throughout their home and community. Mobility is the skill of navigating safely from one's present position to a desired position in another part of the environment. Instructors begin working with consumers indoors. Once proper techniques have been mastered, instruction moves outside in nearby residential and downtown areas. After successfully navigating both residential and highly trafficked areas, individuals may advance to independent travel on foot and on public transportation. Training is designed to be applicable within the home, community and other places frequently visited. Our goal is to enable consumers to function safely upon entering any environment, familiar or unfamiliar, with efficiency and confidence. The O&M Instructor also provides follow-up services upon completion of training on a job site or in other environments as needed.
We are currently accepting applications for an O&M Instructor in the Greenville, SC, area. The O&M Instructor works one-on-one with consumers to evaluate their needs through assessment and direct observation. The instructor establishes an O&M teaching plan, provides appropriate instruction using adaptive techniques and/or equipment, and documents progress to help consumers achieve their goals. Other duties include, but are not limited to the following:
* Conduct initial pre-training assessments to evaluate a consumer's current Orientation and Mobility (O&M) needs and develop a teaching plan.
* Utilize current industry best practices to deliver O&M instruction to consumers based on their individualized needs, IPE goals/objectives, and functional/motivational levels.
* Coordinate with counselors to provide orientation to consumers with essential orientation needs at their job sites, college campuses, and areas within their homes to address safety concerns.
* Schedule lessons and coordinate orientation within the community in a timely manner to meet consumers' needs.
* Schedule and confirm travel offsite to consumers' work sites, homes, or educational facilities to provide individualized O&M training and evaluations.

The Swim Team Assistant Coach for Summer League is responsible for working closely with the Head Coach to develop and implement training programs, provide instruction, and feedback to swimmers, and support the overall success of the YMCA swim team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist the Head Coach in planning and leading swim team practices, including warm-ups, drills, technique work, and conditioning exercises. Provide hands-on instruction, feedback, and encouragement to swimmers to improve their stroke technique, speed, and endurance.
Work with swimmers individually or in small groups to assess their strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Provide personalized coaching and technique corrections to help swimmers achieve their individual goals and reach their full potential in competition.
Assist in preparing swimmers for swim meets, including reviewing meet schedules, entry deadlines, and event selections. Help swimmers develop race strategies, mental preparation techniques, and pre-race routines to maximize performance and confidence on race day.
Attend swim meets as scheduled to support swimmers, provide coaching on deck, and offer encouragement and feedback during races. Help coordinate warm-ups, relay teams, and race logistics to ensure a smooth and successful meet experience for swimmers and families.
Foster a positive team culture and supportive atmosphere among swimmers, coaches, and parents. Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among team members, and lead by example in demonstrating YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Maintain open and regular communication with swimmers, parents, and coaching staff regarding practice schedules, meet information, team updates, and performance feedback. Respond promptly to inquiries, concerns, and feedback from swimmers and parents in a professional and supportive manner.
Stay informed about current trends, best practices, and techniques in swimming and coaching through ongoing education, training, and professional development opportunities. Continuously seek to improve coaching skills, knowledge, and effectiveness in supporting swimmers' development and success.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum age of 16.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as a part of a coaching team and with swimmers of all ages and abilities.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate swim team practices and competitions.
Strong knowledge of swimming strokes, techniques, and training principles.
USA Swimming Coach certification preferred. Previous experience as a competitive swimmer and/or swim coach required.
Certifications required within 60 days of employment: CPR, First Aid, AED, Oxygen.
Ability to complete the following within 30 days of hire: Child Abuse Prevention training; Bloodborne Pathogens and Sexual Harassment training.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Required Education and Experience

Applicants with only a master's degree in the statistical and data sciences will also be considered, but must have an excellent record of teaching together with other relevant professional accomplishments.
