Job Summary

Job Duties
* Effectively plan and conduct daily workouts for a class of 20+ participants.
* Explain proper technique and demonstrate the exercise.
* Prepare appropriate equipment for each class with the assistance of daily waterpark staff.
* Provide excellent customer service and possess a service philosophy that reflects the mission of the Parks and Recreation Department.
* Follow directions from the MPRD Supervisor and Site Manager.
* Instruct daily aerobics classes.
* Regularly communicate with the MPRD Supervisor to ensure all organizational goals are met.
* Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional working relationships with others, individually and in a team environment.

Requirements
Required Education and Experience
* Background in group fitness instructor and/or water aerobics instructor.
Preferred Education and Experience
* Certifications through the Aquatic Exercise Association, WATERinMOTION, National Personal Training Association, American Council on Exercise Group Fitness Certification, Aerobics and Fitness Association of America Group Fitness Certification, or similar organizations.
Other Information?
* This is not a KPERS covered position.
* Applicants must pass a background check.
* Staff will be required to attend in-service training.
* Waterparks are open from Memorial Day weekend until no later than Labor Day. As such, staff may be asked to work weekends and holidays.
