As an Aquatics Swim Instructor, you will work in a fast-paced environment. You will help both adults and children improve their swimming. You will teach life skills to our youngest members and evaluate their swimming ability to establish the correct swim level. You will help to maintain the cleanliness and order of our Aquatics Facilities.

Position Requirements
* Working towards a High School Diploma or GED
* CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard Certifications (within 60 days of hire)
* Complete and pass all Life Time courses when hired
* Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
* Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
* Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
* Ability to routinely raise to lift more than 20 lbs

Swim Instructor Job Description Reports to: Aquatics Supervisor/Assistant General Manager Description: SafeSplash Swim Instructors are responsible for upholding and teaching in accordance with the SafeSplash Swim School teaching certification and curriculum.

Current American Red Cross CPR-PR/AED, First Aid for adult, swimmer and infant required.
WSI certification preferred.
Special consideration given to instructors with experience teaching swimmers age 6 months to 10 years and Special Needs.
Training in the SafeSplash curriculum will be provided.
Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds in weight.
Uniforms:Instructors are required to wear SafeSplash uniforms which include logoed female one-piece suits and male board shorts. SafeSplash Swim School will cover 50% of the cost of one uniform per calendar year per employee. Additional uniforms must be purchased by the employee from SafeSplash Swim School at or below cost. The uniform must be maintained in a clean, professional manner. If at any time a supervisor determines an employee's uniform is inappropriate, he/she may require the employee to purchase an additional uniform. If at any time a uniform is not being worn during assigned instructing hours a supervisor will ask you to put on your uniform. If no uniform is present, you will be required to buy a new uniform or be sent home without pay.

Training in the SafeSplash curriculum will be provided.
Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds in weight.
Uniforms:Instructors are required to wear SafeSplash uniforms which include logoed female one piece suits and male board shorts. SafeSplash Swim School will cover 50% of the cost of one uniform per calendar year per employee. Additional uniforms must be purchased by the employee from SafeSplash Swim School at or below cost. The uniform must be maintained in a clean, professional manner. If at any time a supervisor determines an employee's uniform is inappropriate he/she may require the employee to purchase an additional uniform. The Emergency Medicine Training Center (TC) offers Advanced Life Support (ALS) education and serves as a training site for the American Heart Association, the DC Department of Health Paramedic program, and the National Association of EMTs. The full-time staff at TC provides support and assigns ALS instructors for all classes. This support includes coordinating courses and managing logistics. ALS instructors are tasked with delivering high-quality education and training to prepare students for state and national certification exams. Instructors should be well-acquainted with the program's objectives and demonstrate the ability to follow a structured instructional plan. Minimum Qualifications
Education
A minimum of 2 years of college coursework in one Education, Healthcare, Nursing, EMS Management, or a related field, or a combination of education and training that will allow the individual to be successful.
Licenses/Certifications
Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider credentials
Preferred- Current and valid National Association of EMS Educators Level 2 certification.
Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of field or clinical experience as a healthcare provider or pre-hospital provider
Physical Requirements
Sit, stand, bend, reach, and walk for long periods of time in a clinical setting.
Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull over 100 lbs. as part of the role.
Regularly exposed to healthcare settings that may require personal protective equipment.
Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other equipment.

Congratulations! American Red Cross Instructor Certification is the first step to being able to teach Red Cross classes. All instructors must be affiliated with a training provider that has a signed Training Provider Agreement with the Red Cross to offer training. Affiliation is also required for you to access the Instructor Portal view of the Red Cross Learning Center, which allows you to teach and report courses. If you teach for multiple organizations, you must be added to each organization's Training Provider Agreement to be able to set up and report classes for that organization.
ProACT Academy is seeking dedicated and qualified Affiliate Instructor Contractors to join our team. As an Instructor Contractor, you will be affiliated with ProACT Academy's Training Provider license and conduct classes independently using your own equipment. We are specifically looking for individuals who hold an American Red Cross Instructor certificate in any discipline and possess the necessary equipment to deliver high-quality training sessions for that program.
How it works:
Course Delivery:
Independently teach American Red Cross-certified courses in various disciplines, adhering to the prescribed curriculum and guidelines.
Ensure that all training sessions are engaging, informative, and aligned with ProACT Academy's and standards for excellence.
Equipment and Material Management:
Provide your own equipment in compliance with American Red Cross requirements for the respective training discipline.
Ensure the maintenance and functionality of your equipment, including audiovisual aids, training materials, and first aid supplies.
Participant Engagement:
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes participant interaction, active participation, and skill mastery.
Address participant inquiries, concerns, and feedback with professionalism and expertise.
Quality Assurance:
Uphold the integrity of the American Red Cross training programs by delivering accurate, up-to-date, and relevant content.
Participate in quality assurance visits, which are an essential component of this position, to ensure consistent adherence to training standards.
Professional Development:
Stay current with American Red Cross guidelines, updates, and best practices related to the training discipline.
Continuously improve instructional techniques, presentation skills, and classroom management strategies.
Current License Affiliation Requirement:
Instructor Contractors are required to maintain an affiliation license pursuant to the terms, policies, and conditions of the license. Dues for the Instructor Affiliate License are due annually.
Initial License: $60
Annual Renewal: $45
Late Renewal: $60
Graduates of ProACT Academy instructor courses may be offered a complimentary one year license.
Note: Instructor contractors may be exempted from annual dues based upon the volume of records entered.
7. Course Record Entry
When submitting course records, affiliate instructors will follow ProACT Academy's process for entering course records through a simple form.
Once you have completed a class and submitted the course records you will need remit for the services and license provided by ProAct Academy. At the end of each month, instructor contractors will receive an invoice for the courses courses and records entered on behalf of ProACT Academy. The amount will be based on the courses taught and the associated fees. See the Price List here.
Compensation
The Instructor Contractor is not a paid position. Instructor Contractors establish their own pricing model, process registrations, send blended learning information, and submit course records on behalf of ProACT Academy.
Requirements
Valid American Red Cross Instructor certificate in any discipline (e.g., CPR/AED, First Aid, Lifeguarding, etc.).
Demonstrated experience in teaching and facilitating training sessions effectively.
Access to and ownership of equipment consistent with American Red Cross requirements for the chosen training discipline.
Strong communication and presentation skills.

Detail-oriented and organized in managing course logistics and participant records.
