Make sure that pool and safety equipment is up to date and ready for use before and after any group uses the pool. At times, may help aid any WSI in teaching a group swim lesson. Swim Instructor Aide- Under the direct supervision of the Swim Instructor, help aid in the teaching of group lessons according to the pool curriculum. Help the Swim Instructor evaluate swimmers for pre-testing, mid session reports, testing and end of session evaluations. Be responsible for the handling of pool equipment before and after lessons. Job Summary: Individuals will report directly to the Fitness and Aquatic Director. Instructing youth and/or adults about water safety. Creating daily and/or weekly lesson plans. Attending staff meetings and trainings. Keeping all certification current. Addressing parent and/or guardian's concerns, issues and other feedback in a positive, friendly manner. Notify Fitness and Aquatic Director of any concerns, complaints, issues and/or feedback. Issue participant surveys when received from the Fitness and Aquatic Director. Providing leadership and direction to Water Safety Assistants. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds or more. Other duties as deemed necessary by the Fitness and Aquatic Director. Compensation: Hourly rate of pay dependent on certifications and experience. Increases in rate of pay based on an employee evaluation conducted by the Fitness and Aquatic Director. Qualifications: Applicants must hold current certification with the American Red Cross as a Water Safety Instructor. Lifeguard Training and CPR preferred.
