ROLE SUMMARY Swim Instructors at Stewie the Duck Swim School will be responsible for conducting childrens swim lessons for multiple clients of different ages and skill levels. At times, swim instructors will be asked to help fill in for lifeguards if needed. This role reports to the Aquatics Director and General Manager. Must have a CPR/AED and First Aid Certification OR get certified within 90 days of employment. Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with stage 4 or higher with YMCA standards. At least 15 years of age. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques. Ability to lift and pull equipment 50 pounds, and to lift a small to average size child. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Must be in good physical condition to teach classes. Must have the ability to work inside and outside (i.e. humidity, hot, cold, inclement weather conditions). Must have the ability to concentrate in a loud environment.
