Apply knowledge of swim technique and water safety; a background in competitive swimming or teaching lessons is helpful but not required. Follow the Chelsea Piers Swim School curriculum and be able to demonstrate in-water drills and the four competitive strokes confidently. Manage class structure effectively based on swimmers' skill levels, and communicate technical points clearly and age-appropriately. Be a team player - support your fellow instructors and be flexible in adjusting to different class needs or pool assignments. Prepare for each class by knowing your students, tracking their progress, and keeping tidy, accessible notes. Complete progress reports and report cards by program deadlines to provide valuable feedback to families.
