General Statement of Job Under frequent supervision, provides effective and skillful swim instruction services for the Bob Makinson Aquatic Center, and assists in maintaining BMAC facilities and pools. Nights & weekends as required, no set schedule. Reports to the Recreation & Leisure Services Supervisor - Aquatics and/or Recreation Specialist. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions: Provides supervision for students attending swim lessons by organizing and conducting classes according to the policies and procedures published by Jeff Ellis Swimming and the City of Kissimmee. Responsible for administrative work including student progress reports, lessons plans, attendance records and other administrative work as needed. Inspects the pool area, grounds, facilities and equipment for safety and proper condition. Monitors the activities and behavior of swim lesson participants; ensures compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Assists swimmers in danger, and performs CPR and provides First Aid as necessary. Prepares accident/incident reports as required.
