Essential Functions The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work to be performed by the individual within this classification. Make sure that the patrons are being supervised at all times through a thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques. Maintain and keep records of pool chemistry, incident/accident reports and daily maintenance of the pool area and locker rooms including cleaning and other duties as assigned. Complete Incident/Accident Reports as needed and give to the Head Lifeguard, Graduate Assistant or Assistant Director Aquatics before you leave from your assigned shift. Must have the ability to understand and enforce the rules and regulations set by the UNO Campus Recreation with firmness and tact. Represent the UNO Campus Recreation in a professional and positive manner. Aide and assist individuals and groups utilizing the facility and programs within the policies, procedures, and guidelines set by the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Must attend and participate in all required staff meetings, in-service training and emergency procedure sessions, complete all training session requirements, and attend all meetings that are scheduled by the Head Lifeguard, Graduate Assistant or Assistant Director Aquatics.
Additional Duties
Responsible to understand and follow the standard operating procedures outlined in the employee manual. Required to be on time. Absences must receive prior approval of supervisor. Responsible to inform supervisor prior to running out of supplies. Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with facility staff, groups, associations, agencies and individuals. Staff is representing the UNO Campus Recreation on and off the job when on UNO payroll - Staff are asked not to wear staff shirts or uniforms in any non-tasteful establishments or manner.

Knowledge of water chemistry and the physical ability to operate the pool vacuum, floor scrubber and other pool maintenance equipment. Must be able to physically perform the duties required for the position.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: As an assistant to the high school Band Director, the Percussion Instructor is responsible for the planning and instruction of the school's percussion students. Responsibilities will encompass both battery and pit percussion. The instructor prepares and rehearses the ensemble for independent performances and competitions in accordance with school curriculum.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
The Percussion Instructor will:
Regular, dependable, in-person attendance is an essential function of the job.
Engage students to practice, play and perform introduced materials.
Attend all rehearsals, sectionals, and performances, actively participating in assisting students in sectionals and whole group rehearsals.
Teach drum line basics, i.e. warm-ups, marching techniques and stick work.
Provide a rounded percussion playing experience and education

Teach and assist the “pit” section players with mallet technique and the memorization of music.
Assist in teaching drill for the show. Choreograph sticking and drum line movement to match the drill.
Monitor and control student behavior according to established procedures.
Maintain inventories of percussion supplies, materials and equipment.
Adjust and maintain percussion instruments ensuring timely availability for student use.
Be able to work outdoors and indoors; exposure to sun, heat, cold and inclement weather.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma; Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
Strong background in marching band, percussion performance. University marching band, drum corps, or percussion performance group preferred
