OBJECTIVE: To teach accurately and entirely the different levels of the YMCA Swim Lessons. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide quality instruction and teach the lessons as set up by the National YMCA. Run a safe and healthy class, keeping all persons in lines of vision and when teaching an individual, keep others on deck. Instructors will teach from in the water, not on deck except to do a dry land demonstration. Be prepared for class ahead of time, including the equipment and lesson plans to start class on time. As a teacher you will be there for all classes unless there is an emergency (students depend on you). You will not pass a student if s/he has not completed everything in that class level. Introduce yourself and know the names of your students and where they are at all times during class. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Keep lesson plans up to date in case of a substitute. Part-Time/Temporary/Adjunct The Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality law enforcement training in compliance with state regulations. This role requires expertise in law enforcement practices, strong instructional skills, and adherence to CLEET certification requirements. The instructor will ensure that students receive relevant, up-to-date knowledge and practical skills necessary for law enforcement professionals. Qualifications: To qualify as a CLEET Instructor, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: Law Enforcement Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of full-time law enforcement experience following basic academy certification, OR Five (5) years of combined full-time and reserve law enforcement experience. A written endorsement from the applicant's agency head or designee is required. Educational and Instructor Development Requirements: Completion of a CLEET-recognized instructor development school, OR Possession of a secondary education teaching certificate, OR An advanced degree in secondary or adult education, OR Qualification to instruct at an accredited four-year college or university. Job Description DUTIES: Deliver, develop, and revise training curriculum specific to customer's mission. The curriculum generally consists of lecture followed by laboratory exercises to allow for monitoring the student's ability to demonstrate proficiency in operating the system.
