Primary Responsibilities:
Provide WOW Customer Service to our members

Summary: Promotes quality customer service and processes sales and registration transactions. Acts as the first point of contact for potential and current Goldfish customers and as such is responsible for presenting a positive image for the company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times and anticipate and exceed guest expectations. Know and live the mission and the Goldfish Swim School brand basics. Understand the GFSS Way.
Conduct cold calling to potential customers from lead lists
Follow up with warm leads via phone, text, and email
Explain membership options, class schedules, and promotions
Track customer interactions and follow-ups in the system
Answers telephones, responds to inquiries, takes messages and screens and directs phone calls in a professional manner.
Processes student registrations using effective sales/customer service techniques.
Schedules and manages birthday/pool parties.
Resolves customer concerns/complaints using a professional approach.
Assists clients with purchases of merchandise and vending.
Greets parents and students as they report to the front desk.
Checks in students on the attendance tracking system.
Maintains cleanliness of the front desk area, snack shack area, changing areas, restrooms, and observation area.
Monitors snack shack area and provides guidance to snack shack staff.
Checks voicemail and email correspondence and responds in a timely manner.
Updates informational displays with accurate and timely promotions and literature..
Makes collection calls to resolve open account problems.
Prepares twice daily student lesson schedules for use by instructors and management staff.
Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents. Administers first aid when necessary.
Work at least 1 swim instructor/lifeguard shift per week
All other duties as assigned
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred. Two years previous customer service and/or administrative office experience preferred. Intermediate level computer skills required using Word, Excel and other software systems.
Certificates and Licenses: CPR, First Aid and AED certification preferred . Compensation: $13.00 per hour

This position is responsible for teaching and serving as deck coordinator for all GAC programming - including group, private and adaptive lessons. This role will pay an hourly rate of $20.00-$24.00

Responsibilities
Teach and execute GAC related swim lessons - group, private, adaptive.
Operate as deck coordinator when not teaching to notify parents of deck changes/requirements. Adapt at front desk to help with swim lesson registration and questions.
Create and track attendance reports, assessment cards for GAC programming.
Act as a lead instructor to mentor younger staff.
Assist with Guilford County Schools 2nd Grade Learn to Swim Program as deck coordinator or instructor at the GAC or off-site locations.
Assist with instructor recruitment retention and staff trainings. Teach WSI and LG classes if applicable
Performs other related duties as requested.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or G.E.D preferred.

POSITION PURPOSE:

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
• Must be 15 years of age or older, preferably with previous swim instructing experience.
• Must successfully complete the following certifications within their first 60 days:
a. Accredited Swim Lesson Instructor (YMCA, ARC, or equivalent)
b. CPR for the Professional Rescuer
c. Standard First Aid
d. Emergency Oxygen Administration - O2
e. Automated External Defibrillation - AED
f. Be the Brand training (within 60 days)
• The following certifications are preferred but not required:
h. YMCA Aquatic Safety Assistant (YASA) or YMCA Lifeguarding
i. YMCA Swim Lessons Instructor (YSL)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to perform all necessary rescue and survival skills and all lifeguard prerequisite skills.
• Able to communicate verbally with good voice projection and clarity.

• Remain alert without lapses in consciousness.
• Assist the lifeguard and other personnel in emergency situations.
• Physically perform all necessary rescue and survival skills.
• Lift 50+ pounds from the floor and 200+ pounds in rescue situations.
• Quickly and safely move to various locations in and around the pool area.
• Communicate verbally with good voice projection and clarity.
• Hear noises and distress signals in an aquatic environment. (Significant background noise may exist in the aquatic environment.)
