SwimInstructors at British Swim School teach lessons to children and adults to become safe and happy swimmers, regardless of age or ability. Roles and Responsibilities:
Report to and communicate directly with Aquatics Manager
Conduct classes in a fun and gentle environment, following current teaching methods, policies, and safety and emergency procedures as detailed in the British Swim School training manual or directed by the Aquatics Manager
Our SwimInstructors also cross-train as Deck Ambassadors to help represent and be the greeters and friendly face of our program. Customer service skills and a desire to work with people are a must!

* Creating and implementing developmental swim team programming and coaching for youth and juniors with a structure including periodization short and long-term, mentoring assistant coach(es), team building and fun-raising activities, healthy competition and community-centered collaborations, while modeling department and facility vision with staff and members.
* Maintaining a high level of communication with Chief Operating Officer, Aquatics staff, assistant coaching team, participants, parents, and community activity/ meet officials while scheduling and administering daily practices, planning events (social and competitive), planning program capacities and supervision of all associated with the JCC Swim Team.
* Supporting the administration needs for Swim Team management with COO, Aquatics Manager, and all associated JCC departments including: Aquatics, Facilities, Marketing, Membership, Accounting and Desk Staff.
* Supporting the management of JCC Swim Team employee and independent contractor human resources & accounting processes including but not limited to: on-boarding, staff files, contracts, payroll, tax documents, contact lists, meetings and communications, training and more.
* Supporting the management of JCC Swim Team accounting, marketing and program implementation systems including but not limited to: Daxko, Mind-Body Online, Zoom, Social Media (Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, etc...) and more
* Supporting the collaboration with other departments for optimal member experience and execution of facility policies, procedures, space use, and cleanliness standards. Coordinating with Membership, Desks and Maintenance Teams, Early Childhood Programs, Youth and Teen Programs, Summer Camps, and more for Swim Team program marketing, management and implementation.
* Supporting annual budget process specific to Swim Team based on historical data and program planning processes.
* Supporting the growth of the department to where this position may morph and change as leadership sees fit, making this position opportune for growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
* Five+ years of similar experience as a Head Swim Coach preferred
* Proficiency coaching across youth and junior age groups 5-18 years, individually and in groups.
* Successful completion of a child abuse registry, criminal record check and Safe Sport through USA Swimming.
* Completion of nationally accredited USA Swimming Coach certification in good standing; knowledge of rules, regulations and guidelines of USA and UtahSwimming
* Valid CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED, Lifeguard, or Safety for Swim Coaches certification.
* Completion of an undergraduate degree with specialization in the human performance sciences, preferred but not required
* Knowledge of Swim Tek swimming software and timing systems preferred but not required.

A SwimInstructor at British Swim School teaches swim lessons to children and adults, starting at 3 months old using our fun, gentle and progressive methods. You will receive extensive training to build your confidence and ability to work with a variety of swimmers and abilities. Having fun and interacting with our swimmers is an important part of the role! A strong focus is placed on providing survival swim techniques living out the British Swim School mission and making a big impact on decreasing drowning.
Your Typical Responsibilities:
Support the Aquatics Leader and/or Business Owner(s)
Follow British Swim Schools curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons and environment.
Work evenings (4pm-8pm), weekends (9am- 2pm), and holidays as required by business needs.
Maintain certifications throughout employment.
Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and stand in the water for up to 5 consecutive hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion.
Enthusiastic personality.
Comfortable in and around the water. Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed!
Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment.
Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with children.
Swimming experience: 1-2 years preferred but not required.
Customer service skills: 1 year preferred.
Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training)

Physical Requirements:
