We are invested in helping you be the best you can be in and out of the water!Swim Instructor Job Description Reports to: Aquatics Supervisor/Assistant General Manager Description: SafeSplash Swim Instructors are responsible for upholding and teaching in accordance to the SafeSplash Swim School teaching certification and curriculum. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to): The main focus of a swim instructor is to teach swimming skills in accordance with SafeSplash curriculum in a fun, positive manner. Provide continuous, positive corrective feedback to students and customers on their swimming efforts. Structure class time appropriately to incorporate repetition, reinforcement, and introduction of required skills. Ensure swimmer safety. Maintain proper equipment and time organization to ensure timely class start times. Provide Deck Supervisor with class information (ribbons, student changes, etc) to keep proper class organization. Provide customers with monthly, individualized feedback on swimmers during Splash ‘N Tell week. Maintain proper SafeSplash uniform standards outlined in employee handbook. Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned by management. Position Qualifications and Requirements: Previous swim instruction experience is required. Current American Red Cross CPR-PR/AED, First Aid for adult, swimmer and infant required. WSI certification preferred. Special consideration given to instructors with experience teaching swimmers age 6 months to 10 years and Special Needs. Training in the SafeSplash curriculum will be provided. Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds in weight. Uniforms:Instructors are required to wear SafeSplash uniforms which include logoed female one piece suits and male board shorts. SafeSplash Swim School will cover 50% of the cost of one uniform per calendar year per employee. Additional uniforms must be purchased by the employee from SafeSplash Swim School at or below cost. The uniform must be maintained in a clean, professional manner. If at any time a supervisor determines an employee's uniform is inappropriate he/she may require the employee to purchase an additional uniform. If at any time a uniform is not being worn during assigned instructing hours a supervisor will ask you to put on your uniform. If no uniform is present you will be required to buy a new uniform or be sent home without pay.     As an Aquatics Lifeguard, you must be safety minded and customer service oriented. You will work in a fast-paced environment and will help to oversee state-of-the-art recreational and lap pools, both indoor and out. You will monitor the pool deck and maintain safety on water slides. You will help with aquatics events, such as "Dive in Movies" & "Poolapalooza." Job Duties and Responsibilities Greets and interacts with Members Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aid Ensures swimmers are aware of potentially dangerous swim areas and activities Keeps the pool area clean and orderly to ensure the safety of the Members Position Requirements Working towards a High School Diploma or GED Lifeguard and First Aid Certified Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services Ability to swim 300 yards/meters without stopping Ability to tread water for 1 minute Ability to swim, retrieve a 10 lb diving brick from the bottom of the pool and swim the brick to the top without stopping Ability to routinely bend to raise more than 20 lbs Preferred Requirements 6 months of customer service experience Life Time is a place for everyone.
