WEST Coast Aquatics is seeking to add a member to our aquatics team that will teach youth swim lessons. This person should be comfortable in the water and facilitate a positive learning environment following the WEST curriculum and prioritizing swimmer safety. Compensation $18+ per hour and will reflect the experience and qualifications of the applicant. Swim Instructors create a safe and engaging swimming experience by teaching age/level appropriate swim lessons for beginner to advanced students, while also enforcing pool/facility rules and protocols. Inspect and maintain class equipment, reporting any safety or maintenance concerns. Work Environment: Classes held in 86 degree Indoor Pool. Comfortable and confident working in water for extended periods. Classes run 7:45-8:30am Monday to Friday Qualifications Qualifications: Certification in Water Aerobics, Aquatic Exercise, AEA (Aquatic Exercise Association), or equivalent. CPR/AED/First Aid certification within 6 months of hire. Strong understanding of aquatic exercise principles, water resistance, and safe movement patterns. Excellent communication, cueing, and motivational skills. Comfortable leading large or mixed-level groups in an aquatic environment. Preferred Skills: Experience teaching group fitness or aqua fitness classes. Ability to modify exercises for special populations (seniors, prenatal, rehabilitation clients). Strong musicality and rhythm for leading timed or choreographed movements. Knowledge of pool safety and emergency response procedures.
