Primary Purpose of Position Demonstrates mastery of skills and extensive subject matter knowledge in carrying out assignments associated with the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of plant specific nuclear licensed operations training programs. Primary Duties and Accountabilities Drives the clean energy center (CEC) and personnel performance improvement through the use of training. Coordinates, and conducts performance-based operations Reactor Operator (RO)/Non-Licensed Operator (NLO) training programs as required by user community in accordance with Constellation's systematic approach to training model, department procedures, and with proper application of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases. Assures the training programs are maintained current and incorporate information gained from Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) Significant Operating Experience Reports and Constellation Nuclear Event Reports (NERs), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Bulletins and Information Notices, CEC design change and backfit information, CEC procedure changes and revisions, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports. Prepares trainee examination and conducts trainee evaluations for classroom, laboratory, OJT, and simulator environments, as appropriate and conducts counseling sessions for trainees, evaluates the results, and recommends/develops individualized training programs. Support CEC and fleet in the areas of business initiatives, project management, refuel outage support, emergency preparedness duties, and special projects. Participates in NRC, INPO and management audits, and prepares responses to audit findings. Maintains knowledge of plant operations, disciplinary skills and techniques, commensurate with the responsibility to develop and conduct effective, high-quality training. Supervises the collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports required to document training program activities. Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy, including but not limited to emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (for Swim Lessons): • Follow our swim program under the direction of the Swim Lesson Manager and the leadership of your assigned swim instructor. • Teach with encouragement and positive reinforcement. • Adapt teaching approaches to the age, experience, and ability of participants so they meet level objectives. • Accept responsibility for opening set-up and closing cleaning duties. • Complete progress reports for all swimmers on time. • Complete additional duties as assigned by the Swim Lesson Manager. • Actively participate in in-service training as deemed necessary. • Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service. • Communicate and enforce all Blair Park facility policies, rules, and regulations in a personable and professional manner. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (for Sailing Instructors): Under the general direction of the Sailing Team Leader, the individual must be self-motivated and capable of initiating and developing tasks on a regular basis. Guidance is provided through departmental policies, Park District operating practices and procedures, and other resources as applicable to the specific project assigned. Deliver a developmentally appropriate sailing program for registrants. Evaluate the success of the sailing program and the development of each registrant's sailing abilities and skills. Instructors will demonstrate a commitment to working as a team, and be supportive of the efforts of their fellow instructors. Be an appropriate role model for the students. Encourage the highest levels of sportsmanship and behavior. Generate enthusiasm and commitment to learning. Follow the course curriculum as designed. It is expected that Instructors will make full and constructive use of the time scheduled for classes, and show creativity and excitement with their classes to the best of their ability. Instructors are responsible for all landside and on-the-water aspects of the conduct of their classes. This includes assisting students with the preparation and launching of their sailboats, reviewing and insuring that rigging is done correctly, and that the boat(s) are in safe, working condition. Instructors are responsible for insuring that the safety boat(s) that they will be using for class has the necessary and required safety and teaching equipment, before going out on the water. At the end of the day, Instructors are responsible for making sure that all boats, both safety and sail, are properly secured and put away, and that any extraneous equipment or materials (including trash) has been removed. Instructors are responsible for reporting accidents/illness, both minor and serious to the appropriate chain of command, and for making the appropriate notes in the Injury Log. Instructors are responsible for reporting any problems with the condition of any boat (safety or sail) used in the program. Arrive and be ready to begin work at the scheduled time, dressed in appropriate attire.Performs other duties, as assigned.
