    All positions are part-time and located in the Cobb County PARKS Department and may be filled as a Lifeguard or Lifeguard/Instructor, depending upon qualifications. The water skills will be the pre-requisite for the lifeguarding class if the applicant isn't certified. Applicants may be asked to complete the water skills as part of the interview process. Applicants must pass a pre-course swimming skills test prior to taking lifeguarding courses. The water skills test consist of the following: * 300-yard swim using front crawl or breaststroke * Two-minute tread using legs only * The ability to retrieve a 10-lb dive weight from 7 ft. deep, surface and swim 20 yds. with the weight using legs only and exit the pool without using a ladder within 100 seconds Multiple positions are available at the following locations: * Central Aquatics * West Cobb Aquatics * Mountain View Aquatics * South Cobb Aquatics Lifeguard: $17.00/hr. (Grade: 100P) Lifeguard/Instructor: $17.51/hr. (Grade 101P) Part-Time Lifeguard: Ensures compliance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures: ensures adherence to established safety procedures; monitors work environment and use of safety equipment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals.
