PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Instruct swim lessons as assigned in accordance with YMCA guidelines in a professional, courteous, manner and eliminate unsafe practices and hazards.
Have prepared lesson plans for each session and class.
Develop positive relationships with participants and provide motivational support and guidance.
Wear a uniform consistent with branch dress code: one piece bathing suit (some branches may require staff shirt, whistle, and staff ID).
Arrive 15 minutes early on deck in uniform for all shifts.
Cover all shifts. When unable to cover a shift, instructor must find their own substitute.
Set-up, organize and clean-up all class materials, report any damaged equipment to supervisor.
Convey basic information aquatics programs and schedules.
Communicate with parents responding to questions or comments about the class.
Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings.
Greet all class participants and/or family members in a courteous and friendly manner.
Maintain accurate records (i.e. attendance, progress reports, Class skill performance records etc.).

Complete and distribute class certificates & program evaluations at the end of session.
At all times, maintain physical presence with class and remain aware of pool surroundings and patrons in the pool

Instructor of Applied Environmental Statistics The Department of Sustainable Resources Management at the College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF), State University of New York, invites applications for a tenure-track position as Instructor of Applied Environmental Statistics. This is a teaching intensive position with five to seven courses expected to be taught each academic year (three to four courses per semester). The successful candidate will be expected to: (1) teach courses in applied statistics ranging from large enrollment introductory statistics for undergraduates to more specialized topics for graduate students, including (possibly) biometrics, experimental design and analysis of variance, multivariate methods, nonparametric and categorical data analysis, regression analysis, and sampling; and (2) provide statistical consulting to undergraduate and graduate students and faculty on their research activities.

SWIM LESSON INSTRUCTOR ONEIDA YMCA
Swim instructor job in Oneida, NY
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly, and supports members and program participants in achieving their goals.
Develops and maintains positive relationships with volunteers, members or program participants, and colleagues at all levels of the organization; helps participants and families connect with each other and the YMCA; and encourages parent or caregiver involvement.
Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers program participants and families to other programs.
Maintains records as required (e.g., attendance, progress reports).
Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.
Trains and supervises class aides as assigned.
Is committed to maintaining a workplace free from all forms of harassment
Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth.
Attends required abuse risk management training.
Adheres to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth.
Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
YMCA Swim Instructor certification, or equivalent.
CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid and AED.
Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
Must meet all Association-Wide training requirements in addition to those set forth by their Supervisor.
Must be able to pass a Nationwide Criminal and Sex Offender Registry Background Screening.
Must ensure that the physical and social environments for program delivery reflect the Y's definition of character and values
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques.
Ability to lift equipment, and to lift a small to average size child.
Salary Description Part-Time $15.50-$18.00
