QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 16 years of age.*15 years old based on availability Current YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor Certification or American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification is preferred. Ability to understand and motivate people. CERTIFICATIONS: Bloodborne Pathogens/Child Abuse Prevention every year PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to teach in the water for long periods of time. Remain alert to dangerous situations while sitting, standing, swimming, or walking for various lengths of time. Able to assist participants of any age or weight if they are having difficulty swimming during the lesson by giving them a flotation device and/or assisting them to safety.
