As a swim instructor you are responsible for the safety of each class and teaching swim skills to students using our curriculum. You will work to build water confidence within your students, encouraging each student to rise to the best of their abilities. Responsibilities
Organize and instruct individual students and small groups in swim lessons and aquatic safety.
This includes babies and me, preschool aquatics, and six levels of learn-to-swim courses (guppies, minnows, goldfish, barracudas, dolphins, sharks).
Lift and maneuver students to educate them on proper technique throughout the lesson.
Follow Small Fish Big Fish methods and techniques for daily instruction.
Act as a company spokesperson at community events by educating potential clients and community members on water safety and drowning prevention.
Requirements
Schedule: Must be able to work a minimum of two days, Monday - Wednesday, from 2:30 pm - 8:30 pm and a minimum of one weekend day, Saturday or Sunday, from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate physical effort which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 50 pounds), bending, stooping, stretching, squatting, and sitting.
Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
The noise level is mild to moderate.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Instructors and coaches must be able to see and hold an image of a student's performance of a stroke in memory to provide feedback and correction. Instructors must have the physical flexibility required to demonstrate and perform all six of the basic swimming strokes; and must also be able to tread water and float on front and back. Instructors must be able to see in bright light. (Instructors must provide their own equipment, i.e., sunglasses, for dealing with glare and bright light conditions.) Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WSI's are expected to be attired appropriately for entering the water as part of their teachings' are expected to enter the water as needed to perform maintenance and other functions and should be able to return to their initial post for an extended period, even in wet clothing.

Organize and instruct individual students and small groups in swim lessons and aquatic safety.
This includes babies and me, preschool aquatics, and six levels of learn-to-swim courses (guppies, minnows, goldfish, barracudas, dolphins, sharks).
Lift and maneuver students to educate them on proper technique throughout the lesson.
Follow Small Fish Big Fish methods and techniques for daily instruction.
Act as a company spokesperson at community events by educating potential clients and community members on water safety and drowning prevention.
Requirements
Schedule: Must be able to work a minimum of two days, Monday - Wednesday, from 2:30 pm - 8:30 pm and a minimum of one weekend day, Saturday or Sunday, from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.
At least 1year experience working with kids or Swim Instruction, Education, and/or Aquatics.

Although we teach swimming to all ages and abilities, the majority of our students are preschool and elementary-aged children. The position includes 40 hours of specialist training in our highly developed British Swim School methodology.

Roles and Responsibilities
Reports directly to the Aquatics Director and/or Business Owner(s)
Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and standards
Conduct classes in a fun and gentle environment, following current teaching methods, policies and safety and emergency procedures as detailed in the British Swim School teacher training manual and as directed by the Aquatics Director.
Follows all British Swim School policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
Work a flexible schedule that may include holidays and weekends as required by business needs and as requested by management.
Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and stand in the water for up to 5 consecutive hours.
Qualifications
Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with British Swim School standards
Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics specific training and successfully complete the final in water and written exams
Must complete CPR/AED & First Aid training within 90 days of employment
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check
Compensation: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
