Distinguishing Features of the Class Under general supervision, to instruct certified swimming instruction programs and safeguard swimming pool/aquatic center patrons in various water areas and depths of aquatic facilities, and to ensure proper use of pool area.

Instruct swimming lessons in the water in accordance with IWC guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.
Build effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; help them connect with each other and the IWC. Encourage parent involvement and identify potential volunteers.
Maintain teaching equipment and conduct routine checks to ensure participant safety. Organize and put away needed class equipment. Report any damaged equipment.
Train and supervise class aides as assigned.
