Pay Transparency: $16.90 - $45.00 per hour (DOE, base rate plus piece rate for swim lesson sessions) Role and Responsibilities The Aquatics Instructor is responsible for teaching safe and effective small group and/or private swim classes for our members and are required to hold and maintain educational standards commensurate with Active Wellness quality and commitment to aquatics safety. Uniforms: Lifeguards are required to wear SafeSplash uniforms which include a white SafeSplash Lifeguard t-shirt and royal blue shorts. SafeSplash Swim School will provide one (1) t-shirt per calendar year per employee. Additional uniforms must be purchased by the employee from SafeSplash Swim School at or below cost. The uniform must be maintained in a clean, professional manner. If at any time a supervisor determines an employee's uniform is inappropriate he/she may require the employee to purchase an additional uniform. If at any time a uniform is not being worn during assigned instructing hours a supervisor will ask you to put on your uniform. If no uniform is present you will be required to buy a new uniform or be sent home without pay. Job Description The City of American Canyon is seeking individuals who will serve as Lifeguards or Lifeguard/WSI. Lifeguard/Lifeguard/WSI observe the activity of swimmers in and around the American Canyon Aquatics Pool and provide lifesaving services as needed. Lifeguards also assist and teach with swim lessons and other pool-related activities. The position may be scheduled during hours that may include early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays and are considered temporary/part-time and are limited to no more than 1,000 hours per fiscal year.
