Competition of Principles of Youth Development (e-learning), YMCA Swim Lessons Instructor v6: Orientation (e-learning) YMCA Swim Lessons Instructor v6: Observe & Communicate (e-learning) and YMCA Swim Instructor Certification. Staff that are not 16 at the time of hire (or not yet 16 but are currently teaching swim lessons), will need to be certified within 90 days once they turn 16. Recertification every two years will be re-taking the full class or recertifying with Advanced Swimming Techniques or Advanced Teaching Techniques. Must attend at least one, seven-week session of training with an experienced instructor before teaching independently (shadowing). Must have experience in water safety. Must have knowledge of teaching basic swimming strokes to all levels, and have the ability to demonstrate each skill effectively. Athletics/Activities/Coaching Varsity Assistant/JV Swim Coach DUTIES/QUALIFICATIONS Shows loyalty to Head Coach and System Current and valid CPR, First Aid, Concussion Training, Pupil Activity Permit, NFHS, Ohio Sudden Cardiac Arrest training Prior successful coaching experience preferred Knows the fundamentals of the sport Has fundamental teaching and coaching ability Displays appropriate appearance, behavior, and language during games and practices Reflects a positive attitude and uses sound, consistent judgments when making decisions Responsible for issuing, care, and collection of equipment Ability to motivate athletes Has respect, control, and discipline of athletes under his/her supervision Supervises players in areas under coach's responsibility Exhibits intensity and dedication to coaching in present assignment Develops and distributes organized practice schedules which utilize staff, team, and individuals to maximum potential Shows in season and out of season involvement and commitment to program Seeks and follows directives of Head Coach Salary: As per Master Agreement

Under close supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator plans, organizes, and provides quality swimming and water safety instruction in the Amherst HealthPlex. Independent Contractor $12.00-15.00 Hourly Essential Functions: Leads swim lessons and/or related classes. Communicates and enforces HealthPlex policies and procedures as they relate to water safety. Responsible for assisting in set-up and clean-up of aquatic programs. Trains participants in a manner that is both demonstrative and professional. Takes attendance of class each time class is held. Fill out the timecard accordingly. Develops positive relationships with members and provides motivational support and guidance. Communicates needs, issues and concerns to Facility Coordinator. Requirements Must possess Red Cross First Aid Certification. Must possess Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification. Must possess Red Cross CPR certification. Salary Description $12.00-$15.00/Hourly
