Coaching Duties Recruits talent and academically eligible athletes in a professional manner. Teaches fundamentals of the sport and assess the skill level of the Student-Athlete to achieve maximum athletic performance. Coordinates conditioning with Head Athletic Trainer. Supervises Assistant Coaching Staff. Plans practice schedules and activities. Coordinates season schedules with Athletic Director. Evaluates opposing teams to develop game strategy. Assesses athlete skills and assign team positions. Ensures full compliance with all NAIA, conference, and institutional eligibility standards; collaborates with the Compliance Officer to monitor eligibility and report rule violations. Maintains accurate recruiting records in the university's athletics management system and adheres to NAIA recruiting standards and contact rules. Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. Administrative Duties Maintains control of budget. Develops Fund Raising activities. Orders equipment, supplies and direct staff in keeping a complete inventory. Tracks student-athlete's progress in the classroom to ensure graduation. Plans travel arrangements with staff for away contests. Attends required Frontier Conference Meetings. Reviews sport rules and regulations per both the NAIA and Frontier Conference annually. Gains a high level of knowledge and experience in the GSS pool operations necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment. Initiates and oversees workplace employee activities (Fun Department) with the goal of achieving improved employee satisfaction. Directs and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures that pertain to the GSS facility and trains all current staff on the GSS EAP. Maintains current certifications and stays up-to-date professionally on the aquatics and management field. Fulfills other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Employer. Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED is required. Bachelors degree or higher preferred. Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor and/or childcare provider required. Three or more years management experience REQUIRED. Two or more years as a swimming instructor preferred. Certificates and Licenses: Lifeguard, CPR/AED and first Aid certification required. Shallow water attendant highly recommended. Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
