Job Title: Concrete Estimator

Reports To: Estimating Manager or Preconstruction Manager
The Concrete Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for concrete work on commercial, industrial, and/or residential construction projects. This role includes reviewing plans and specifications, performing detailed quantity takeoffs, obtaining and analyzing vendor/subcontractor pricing, and assembling complete, competitive bids in alignment with company goals and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Review architectural, structural, and civil drawings, specifications, and addenda to understand the full scope of concrete work.
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for concrete, rebar, formwork, embedded items, and related materials using digital takeoff/estimating software.
Develop comprehensive material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates for all phases of concrete work.
Prepare bid proposals, alternates, and value‐engineering options in coordination with project managers and field operations.
Solicit, review, and level vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure scope coverage and cost competitiveness.
Identify risks, clarifications, and exclusions, and clearly document them in estimate and proposal deliverables.
Assist in project handoff meetings, explaining takeoffs, assumptions, and cost breakdowns to project management and field teams.
Track historical costs and maintain databases for production rates, crew compositions, and unit prices to improve future estimates.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and RFI processes to clarify scope and site conditions.
Support change-order pricing, budget updates, and cost analysis through the lifecycle of awarded projects.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
3-5+ years of experience in concrete estimating, structural concrete, or general construction estimating (adjust years for junior/senior roles).
Strong understanding of concrete construction means and methods, including forming systems, reinforcing, placement, and finishing.
Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, Planswift/On-Screen Takeoff, HeavyBid, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports.
Familiarity with relevant building codes, industry standards, and safety requirements related to concrete work.
Skills and Competencies

+ If BIM is required, the detailer is responsible for the following:
+ Assisting the project team in completing the BIM Specification Sheet and Installation Drawing Checklist.
+ Attending BIM coordination meetings as needed.
+ Following up after redlines have been distributed and addressing all model constructability issues.
+ Reviewing all Installation Drawings generated from the model.
+ Weekly time entry into JDE and saving timecards to a designated folder.
+ Maintain clear and consistent communication with your project team. In instances where needed, act as a mediator between engineering, project management, field operations, BIM, and Prefab departments.
+ Maintain proper document control by adhering to the department's folder structure and naming conventions.
+ Ensure that the latest CEI Installation Standards are being followed and serve as a resource for standardization whenever necessary.
+ Address bulletin updates and added scope. This includes:
+ Getting project management approval for rework.
+ Requesting new cost code if applicable.
+ Updating the Pre-Construction project folder with the most recent contract documents and archiving old ones.

Commercial Construction Assistant Superintendent - Mission Critical
Job Description:
The Assistant Superintendent (Assistant Supt.) supports managing work flow consistent with the project schedule, communicates project priorities to field staff and subcontractors, maintains daily log/report of all activities and site conditions, and manages the punch list and closeout process through owner/architect acceptance. The Assistant Supt. understands and administers the HITT safety program to include all subcontractors, ensures that all accidents/incidents are promptly reported and investigated, and assists in safety inspection by outside agencies. The Assistant Supt. assists in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the building aspects of each project in order to meet budget, quality, time and safety objectives.
Responsibilities
* Work with project manager in formulating project schedule, ensure that the proper methods and sequence of installation are followed, makes and follows through with schedule commitments
* Maintain HITT quality standards for all aspects of the project
* Maintain good working relationship with all subcontractors on the project, develop relationships within the community that enhances business opportunities, and ensure subcontractors are treated fairly.
* Ensure complete, accurate daily documentation of work orders/tickets, understand subcontractor scope of work to avoid unnecessary change orders, and identify problems early and act immediately to provide solutions.
* Develop and organize the site team, arrange for temporary facilities/utilities for the site, and identify long lead items that need to be expedited
Qualifications
* High school diploma required, four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
* 2-5 years' experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor
* Tenant renovations, service work, work in occupied spaces, weekend work, fast paced project experience all a plus
* Project lead experience a plus
* Ability to master sector/project-specific software systems including but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite (ex. Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam,
* OSHA 30 Certification preferred
* Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time and the ability to lift up to 50lbs
* Must demonstrate a strong ability to:
* Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally, with a strong focus on audience appropriate business writing and verbal skills
* Demonstrate a positive attitude and passion for construction and our industry

In accordance with California's Labor Code Section 432.3, the base salary range for this position is:
$87,120.00 - $145,200.00
Compensation in other cities and states may vary. The determination of salary is based on the candidate's individual professional experience, qualifications, education, skills, and training.
