* Must have Credit & Surety Underwriting experience About The Role: Underwrite contract surety bonds in conformance with NAS Surety Group underwriting guidelines to determine if they meet risk acceptability standards and the strategy of the company. Responsible for increased premium production achieved by enhancing agent relationships. Authority to approve surety bonds up to an assigned authority level granted by Branch Manager.
* Responsible for the management of daily bids and final bond requests.
* Responsible for the review of new contract bonds for completion in accordance with NAS policies. Analyze new account submissions for assigned territory.
* Approve bonds within the limit of authority for this position.
* Oversee and manage the fiscal status of accounts. Perform analysis on annual accounting audits and internal financial statements. Review and be familiar with relevant credit information.
* Maintain current documentation and credit information files in accordance with the NAS Surety Group Procedure Manual for Contract Surety.
* Enhance existing agency relationships and identify and secure new agents. Schedule regular meetings with established agents. Visit bond accounts as requested by agents and supervisor.
* Provide quarterly marketing updates to VP/Branch Manager and other reports as requested.
* Attend NAS Surety Group regional meetings as required.
* Participate in special projects as delegated by the VP/Branch Manager
The ideal position location is in Ohio, and could be based in Cleveland, Columbus, or other metro areas. The role would likely be a Teleworker role.
About You:
* Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in business, preferably finance or accounting, or equivalent work experience.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of current contract surety underwriting experience for Underwriter level; 7 to 10 years for Senior Underwriter.
* Strong marketing skills and ability to obtain new business and work with contractor clients.
* Strong competency in quantitative and financial analysis.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Competent computer skills including knowledge of Excel and Word.
* Ability to travel 25%.
For Ohio, the estimated base salary range for the Underwriter position is $112,000 to $168,000. The estimated base salary for the Senior Underwriter position is $156,000 to $234,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role, takes into account many factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.

The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including Princeton (NJ), Amelia (OH), and Hartford (CT). The salary range posted below reflects market variations across various locations. The offer will be adjusted per geography.
The base salary range anticipated for this position is $88,400- $129,700 plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
The salary estimate is adjusted to reflect the varying market conditions across different locations, with the with the higher end being more aligned with the Princeton job market. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.

Purpose:
The Agile Product Owner leads, drives, and owns the definition, development, and deployment of the overall Product Vision and strategy through collaboration with key stakeholders, understanding of American Modern systems, processes and products, and analysis of data and metrics to determine business requirements that are focused on delivering customer value. Define, refine, and prioritize business requirements within a product backlog in accordance to the prioritization set by the department(s) and value associated with the Product. The Product Owner must be able to translate business requirements into technical user stories.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Define the overall Product Vision and ensure alignment to strategic company goals.
Analyze self-service usage, data, and key insights, etc. to create a roadmap to support vision.
Collaborate with key business stakeholders to understand and anticipate business needs, assess alignment to the Product Vision and ensure translation into product requirements and capabilities.
Oversee all stages of product creation; design, development, delivery, and adoption. This is inclusive of hosting regular showcase events to ensure product/system is moving in the correct direction.
Translate business and associate requirements into Epics and Features (high-level business user stories) of how the system should function.
Collaborate with IT Project Managers and/or Business Analysts to break down features into technical user stories, sprint planning, and approvals.
Manage the product backlogs and prioritize them based on changing requirements.
Monitor and evaluate product progress at each stage of the process.
Provide insights and regular communication to leadership and stakeholders to ensure alignment and advise of progress, challenges, risks, or needed changes.
Liaison with the product team and end-users to deliver iterative updates and reviews.
Participate in necessary Agile-Scrum meetings with Agile IT team to provide updates, direction, and planning.
Ensure each story has the correct acceptance/success criteria and definition of complete.
Ensure close collaboration with the development team to provide timely answers and decisions.
Required Technical Skills:
Strong analytical skills - data, processes, risks, etc.
Strong understanding of American Modern technology, products, and processes
Strong collaboration and communication skills across the organization with key partners, IT and stakeholders. Must be able to communicate business needs, understand technical constraints, and ensure understanding across the organization.
Strong time management and organizational skills. Must be able to drive the team to meet common goals and meet tight deadlines.
Business to Technical Translator - Must be able to translate business requirements to technical user stories and have the ability to prioritize requirements to be implemented.

Education, Certifications & Designations:
Required: Bachelor's degree or Actively Pursuing or equivalent work experience. Demonstrates expertise within the insurance industry. Strong understanding of technology and customer needs. Ability to analyze data and create roadmap for technical delivery. 3+ years Product Owner experience. Must complete the Agile Product Ownership Certification.
Preferred: P&C License. Six Sigma. Certifications or concentrated efforts in leadership, management and or training

The Opportunity
The Internal Audit Intern will develop an appreciation of different functional units of the insurance and reinsurance industry (e.g., underwriting, claims, finance, accounting, compliance, systems and technology), benefit from exposure to a variety of senior business leaders engaged in the audit process and gain insight as to what it takes to be an Internal Auditor.Opportunities to participate on audits with experienced senior audit team members will be provided. The day-to-day activities and projects will provide the intern with an opportunity to learn about the internal audit profession and Munich Re organization. They will be able to apply what they learn in the classroom regarding Risk Management/Audit/Accounting/Business Operations and Technology to actual day-to-day operations.
The role is being offered in Hartford, CT; Princeton, NJ; or Amelia, Ohio in a hybrid working environment.
The hired intern is expected to work 40 hours per week during the summer and 10 - 15 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters (remote and/or hybrid).
Responsibilities:
Perform as a member of the audit team under supervision of the Senior Auditor, and provide support in conducting audits, advisories, and internal control projects
Participate in audit planning to gain an understanding of the audited area
Perform audit testing and prepare workpapers to support the testing performed and conclusions reached in accordance with appropriate professional and department standards
Assist in providing audit status update meetings to stakeholders and work with the Senior Auditor to draft the audit report
Assist on special projects during the course of internship
Job Requirements:
Preferred Majors: Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Risk Management and Insurance
Grade Level: rising Senior undergraduate (2027 graduate)
Verbal and written communication skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work on own initiative
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Experience with data analytics and tools a plus
Minimum 3.0 GPA
The base range for this internship will be $21.00 -$22.00 per hour. The hourly estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position in Princeton, NJ and Hartford, CT. Factors that may be used to determine your actual rate will include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.
